Summary: The study used 27 years of harvest data to examine wolverine trapping patterns in the Yukon. Higher harvest rates were found in southwestern Yukon, where human population and roads are concentrated, while lower harvest rates were observed in northern and eastern Yukon. The study highlights the importance of harvest refugia and the preservation of wilderness regions for sustaining wolverine populations.

Summary: Humans have been utilizing wild furbearers for various purposes for thousands of years. The European Union's Wild Fur Regulation has posed a challenge to modern furbearer management, resulting in the United States and European Union entering into a non-binding bilateral understanding to evaluate trap performance. This evaluation aimed to advance the use of improved traps through the development of best management practices.

Summary: The study found that advanced hunters are primarily driven by cultural and social factors, emphasizing the need for retention management strategies; hunting for meat is the most important motivation for intermediate hunters; there were no statistically significant differences between the three skill levels for motivations of being outdoors and challenge.

Summary: The results of international academic assessments over the past few decades have consistently shown that students in the Confucian cultural circle perform exceptionally well. However, studies have also revealed that East Asian students often face high pressure and lack interest in academic learning. This article aims to propose a dual-mode framework of achievement goals and two kinds of effort beliefs that students may develop in societies influenced by Confucian heritage culture. Empirical studies based on this framework demonstrate that Chinese students' academic striving is motivated not only by interest but also by role obligation or virtue of effort, and that students' effort beliefs can predict their learning emotion and behavioral tendency, which can be influenced by their parents' and teachers' effort beliefs. The theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

Summary: Peer relationships and social belonging are crucial during adolescence. A study found that adolescents value evaluative information from peers and are willing to exert more effort to obtain it, while adults are relatively less motivated for feedback.

Summary: We developed a social-ecological model of the Kenai River Fishery through collaborative interviews with stakeholders using a participatory Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping process. Individual models were combined into an aggregated model that represents the system's structure and function. The model helps illustrate the interconnectedness of the fishery's social-ecological system, facilitates management discussions, and explores components that affect sustainability.

Summary: A decline in insect biomass and biodiversity has been observed. Metabarcoding provides a time- and cost-efficient method for identifying insect species. This study examined the impact of weather and trapping effort on insect biomass and biodiversity in vineyards using metabarcoding. Common species can be surveyed with less effort, while rare species require more intensive trapping.

Summary: The study found that even if earnings are solely based on luck, workers still believe that their effort will be rewarded by the employer. Therefore, they will work harder, especially when the employer can observe their effort. Additionally, workers also labor harder if the employer is unaware that earnings are determined by luck.

Summary: This study assesses the energy and water consumption in catching and processing wild sockeye salmon in Bristol Bay, Alaska, using a life cycle approach. The findings show that fishing effort accounts for a significant portion of the energy consumed, while processing and packaging contribute to the water embodied in the final products. Labor transport and fishery management have relatively small impacts on energy and water consumption.

Summary: The two main challenges in controlling alien American mink in Patagonia are maximizing campaign efficacy and cost-effectiveness, as well as avoiding trapping native species. To address these challenges, new variants of collapsible wire box traps were designed and tested, along with a comparison of food-based bait and scent lure efficacy and catch rates in different seasons. The recommended trapping campaign involves using the GMV-13 variant of wire cage trap during summer with a 200-m trap spacing, for up to 6 days before moving to a new site. The combination of three days with a female scent gland lure followed by three days with a male scent gland lure should result in the removal of at least 70% of the estimated mink population within the area covered by each trap transect.

Summary: The global Covid-19 pandemic has led to governments implementing lockdowns to limit the spread of the disease, forcing employers to suspend work activity and subsidize wages for employees on furlough. This study explores the impact of furlough on employees' perceptions of abilities, motivation, and opportunities within the AMO framework, highlighting both positive and negative effects on these elements.

Summary: This work examines the motivations and environmental performance of EMAS registration, an international standard for environmental management systems. Based on a review of 73 scholarly works, it provides a research agenda for further exploration. The findings highlight diverse motivations for EMAS adoption and a mixed picture of its impact on performance. The implications for managers, policy makers, and stakeholders are discussed.

Summary: In this study, we find a negative relationship between employee effort and earnings management, where higher employee effort results in less earnings management. Companies with higher employee effort have more predictable earnings and smaller earnings discontinuities. The study suggests that high-effort firms may be misclassified as earnings manipulators, as earnings management can enable benchmark beating with greater precision than high employee effort alone.

Summary: This paper investigates the environmental implications of an (s,S) inventory control policy by incorporating a firm's voluntary environmental policy. The findings suggest that voluntary environmental efforts should be used to stimulate sales and improve production efficiency under this inventory control policy. However, these efforts cannot be used as a means to generate temporary reputation insurance.
