Summary: The intense infiltration of regulatory T cells (Tregs) facilitates the qualities of glioma stem cells (GSCs) through TGF-beta secretion and NF-κB-IL6-STAT3 signaling pathway, leading to increased cancer stemness and tumorigenic potential. Blocking the IL6 receptor can mitigate the promotion effect of Tregs on glioma growth, and the expression levels of CD133, IL6, and TGF-beta could serve as prognosis markers for glioma patients.

Summary: This study investigates the use of O-HA + D hydrogels to deactivate TGF-beta 1 and reduce scar formation in glaucoma filtration surgery. The results demonstrate that O-HA + D hydrogels can effectively lower the concentration of TGF-beta 1 in aqueous humor, inhibit collagen production, and reduce inflammation and collagen degradation in wounds.

Summary: Primary open-angle glaucoma is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by degeneration of optic nerve axons, with intraocular pressure identified as the major risk factor for its development involving molecular mechanisms like TGF-beta. Decorin has been found to play an important role in intraocular pressure and optic nerve damage.

Summary: In this study, a prognostic lncRNA signature related to TGF-beta signaling was established in glioma. The signature was proven to be a reliable prognostic tool and provided insights into immune infiltration characteristics and immunotherapy response prediction. Furthermore, AGAP2-AS1 was identified as an important player in glioma progression.

Summary: Decorin is an important factor in various biological functions and signaling networks, playing a role in ECM components, growth factors, and receptor tyrosine kinases. It is associated with ischemic and fibrotic eye diseases, including congenital stromal dystrophy of the cornea, anterior subcapsular fibrosis of the lens, and proliferative vitreoretinopathy. Decorin also plays a role in secondary PCO after cataract surgery. It has the potential to be a therapeutic approach for impaired wound healing, PCO, and other eye diseases related to fibrosis and angiogenesis.

Summary: This study demonstrates that 2,3,5,4'-Tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-beta-D-Glucoside (THSG) can attenuate lung fibrosis and reduce lung injury by regulating multiple signaling pathways. THSG affects extracellular matrix deposition, fibronectin expression, oxidative stress, and autophagy. Therefore, THSG may be a potential drug for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis.

Summary: This study evaluated the anti-fibrotic role of Piceatannol (PIC) in a mouse model of pulmonary fibrosis and found that PIC reduces the number of activated myofibroblasts by promoting autophagy. The study demonstrates for the first time the protective effects of PIC against pulmonary fibrosis and suggests its potential as a candidate compound for pulmonary fibrosis therapy.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that MICAL2 plays a role in promoting proliferation and migration of glioblastoma through the TGF-beta/p-Smad2/EMT-like signaling pathway. Knockdown of MICAL2 can inhibit the growth and invasion abilities of glioblastoma cells. High MICAL2 expression predicts poor prognosis in GBM patients, making it a potential therapeutic target.

Summary: TIO3 is a promising adjuvant for enhancing TCL-based vaccines by inhibiting TGF-beta 2 expression, leading to a more vigorous and long-lasting antitumor response. The combination of TIO3 and Glioma cell lysate significantly prolongs the survival of glioma-bearing mice and protects them from glioma re-challenge.

Summary: This study evaluated the clinical significance of amplified expression levels of transforming growth factor beta 2 (TGFB2) in tumor tissue specimens from pediatric DIPG patients. The results showed that high level TGFB2 expression is associated with poor treatment outcome in DIPG. These findings support further evaluation of new strategies targeting TGFB2 in pediatric DIPG.

Summary: BAP31 plays an important role in the migration of lung cancer cells, and its knockdown weakens cell migration. Treatment with TGF-beta can reduce cell migration and enhance proliferation, which is downregulated after BAP31 knockdown. Moreover, BAP31 regulates multiple signaling pathways, especially the Wnt signaling pathway.

Summary: This study aimed to construct a new risk model and propose a new strategy for grade II and III gliomas. By analyzing the immune microenvironment and gene expression of patients, we found that high-risk patients were more likely to have an inflammatory immune microenvironment and higher PD-L1 expression level. In addition, we found that inhibition of the TGFB1/TGFBR1 and PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathways could improve the treatment efficacy of grade II and III gliomas.
