Summary: This study used a simulation model to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of a school-based intervention in promoting resilience and mental health in adolescence. The intervention was found to be economically advantageous from a societal perspective and more cost-effective in the most deprived group.

Summary: A large electricity outage has both direct and indirect costs for households. The indirect costs include the loss of access to infrastructure services that depend on electricity. A study on Norwegian households found that the indirect costs add about 50% to the direct costs. This information is crucial for making optimal investments in electricity networks.

Summary: This study evaluated the cost-effectiveness and utility of posttransplant hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) surveillance compared to standard follow-up. Although surveillance slightly improves survival and quality of life, it also increases costs and does not appear to be cost-effective in this setting.

Summary: This study compared the cost-effectiveness of Multi-specialty INterprofessional Team (MINT) Memory Clinic care with usual care and found that MINT Memory Clinics were less expensive and slightly improved quality of life. The cost-utility analysis showed that MINT Memory Clinics were superior to usual care, and early access to care significantly reduced care costs over time. Therefore, widespread scaling of MINT Memory Clinics into existing primary care systems can improve the quality and access to memory care services while decreasing the economic and social burden of dementia.

Summary: The prevention of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer involves genetic counselling and highly preference-sensitive options like risk-reducing surgeries. Health economic models using heterogeneous data and assumptions on health preferences have shown varying utility values for cost-utility analyses. Impact of test results on utility values should be considered in future modeling studies, as women's health preferences may have changed due to improved oncologic care and genetic counselling.

Summary: This study aims to determine the cost-utility of ambrisentan compared to sildenafil in treating pediatric patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. The results showed that ambrisentan was associated with higher costs and higher quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) compared to sildenafil. Therefore, our economic evaluation concludes that ambrisentan is not cost-effective for treating pediatric patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension in Colombia.

Summary: This study found that patient facial features and factors can help predict nasal soft tissue envelope (STE) thickness before rhinoplasty. Accurate prediction of nasal STE thickness can improve preoperative planning for rhinoplasty, leading to better patient outcomes and satisfaction through the implementation of pre-, intra-, and post-operative treatments to optimize the nasal STE.

Summary: This study used eye-tracking technology to objectively measure the attentional distraction of facial contour defects after superficial and total parotidectomy. The results showed that total parotidectomy resulted in distracting facial contour deformity, while superficial parotidectomy did not. Fat graft reconstruction was able to normalize this attentional distraction.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate visual gaze patterns and the ability to identify cancer among participants of different experience levels when viewing vocal cord lesions. The results showed no significant differences in gaze targets among different experience levels, but novice participants were more likely to rate a low likelihood of cancer for infectious laryngitis. These findings may be attributed to the symmetric appearance of vocal cord lesions.

Summary: This systematic review evaluated the long-term efficacy of septoplasty with or without turbinate modification in improving nasal obstruction. The review included 35 studies with 4,432 patients and found that both subjective and objective outcomes significantly improved at long-term follow-up. While some studies noticed slight worsening of subjective outcomes over time, no significant change in objective outcomes was found. Overall, patient satisfaction and improvement rates were high at an average of 27.0 months after surgery.
