Summary: This study aims to investigate the functional roles of miR-410-3p in primary gastric cancer and the roles of exosomes in regulating miR-410-3p expression. It was found that miR-410-3p was downregulated in gastric cancer and its overexpression inhibited cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Exosomal miR-410-3p expression was significantly higher than its endogenous expression and exosomes from gastric cancer cells regulated miR-410-3p expression in other cells.

Summary: Bactrocera dorsalis is a major threat to horticultural crops and has developed resistance against insecticides. The sterile insect technique shows potential as a tool to control this pest by reducing their reproductive ability. The study identifies a specific gene and miRNAs that play a critical role in spermatogenesis and could be targeted to control the pest through genetic-based techniques.

Summary: An increasing number of studies have indicated that ferroptosis plays a crucial role in neurodegenerative diseases, but its involvement in nerve injury caused by lead exposure is still unclear. This study treated cells and mice with lead acetate and found that lead exposure induced ferroptosis. Moreover, miR-378a-3p and its regulation of SLC7A11 were investigated in this process.

Summary: This study identifies a novel circRNA, circCSDE1, that is highly expressed in skeletal muscle. Functional studies show that circCSDE1 promotes proliferation and inhibits myoblast differentiation, while miR-21-3p has opposite effects. Dual-luciferase reporter assay confirms that circCSDE1 targets miR-21-3p directly.

Summary: This study investigated the potential therapeutic effects of perillaldehyde (PAE) on diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) through network pharmacology and molecular docking. The results showed that PAE can improve cardiac function, reduce myocardial injury and apoptosis in DCM rats, and inhibit P-GSK-3 beta expression by upregulating miR-133a-3p.

Summary: In this study, it was discovered that miR-103-3p is highly expressed in skeletal muscle and has inhibitory effects on myotube formation and differentiation of C2C12 cells. Furthermore, miR-103-3p was found to directly target the MAP4 gene and regulate autophagy in myoblasts. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the regulatory role of miRNAs in skeletal muscle myogenesis.

Summary: This study revealed that miR-153-3p regulates cardiomyocyte apoptosis by directly targeting beta II spectrin, particularly by regulating the expression of caspase 7. Targeting the miR-153-3p/beta II spectrin pathway effectively regulated FA-induced damage during heart development in an animal model. The findings suggest that miR-153-3p may serve as a potential target for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of CHD.

Summary: This study found that miR-199a-3p/5p is down-regulated in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and overexpression of miR-199a-3p/5p can inhibit cell proliferation, migration, and promote apoptosis. Rheb is identified as a common target of miR-199a-3p and miR-199a-5p, participating in the regulation of the mTOR signaling pathway. Additionally, miR-199a significantly inhibits tumor growth and metastasis in NSCLC and enhances the sensitivity of gefitinib in EGFR-T790M mutation. MiR-199a-3p/5p has the potential to serve as an early diagnostic marker or therapeutic target for NSCLC.

Summary: This study reveals the role of PPARGC1A in chicken muscle, showing that it affects muscle quality and muscle mass through regulating mitochondrial biogenesis and muscle metabolism. The expression level of PPARGC1A is regulated by miR-193b-3p. These findings contribute to our understanding of the genetic regulation of chicken skeletal muscle development.

Summary: The study reveals that SNAIL-dependent miR-28-3p and miR-193a-5p play critical roles in regulating the growth, differentiation, and progression of RMS. These miRNAs induce myogenic differentiation, inhibit migration and invasion, and regulate angiogenesis. In vivo experiments show that overexpression of these miRNAs can suppress tumor growth and prevent RMS cells from engrafting into bone marrow, suggesting their potential as new therapeutic targets for RMS in the future.
