Summary: This study investigated the prevalence and risk factors of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in a Chinese population with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Qingpu, Shanghai. The prevalence of DR was 10.1%, with non-proliferative DR being more common. Higher fasting plasma glucose and glycated hemoglobinA1c were identified as known risk factors for DR, while no association was found between lipid indicators and DR. Additionally, higher levels of urea nitrogen and urinary albumin were associated with an increased risk of DR.

Summary: This study aimed to systematically evaluate the prevalence and influencing factors of frailty in older Chinese patients with diabetes. The results showed that the prevalence of frailty in older diabetic patients in China was 30%. The main influencing factors were HbA1c level, number of complications, age, depression, exercise, and nutritional status. However, the quality of the relevant literature was generally low and the number was limited, highlighting the need for high-quality prospective studies to further verify these conclusions.

Summary: This study found that the overall prevalence of diabetes mellitus among tuberculosis patients in China is 7.8%, with variations in prevalence across different regions and study types. This suggests that the prevalence of diabetes mellitus among tuberculosis patients in China aligns with the overall diabetes mellitus prevalence among the public in China, indicating the need for public health strategies to address the burden of tuberculosis-diabetes mellitus comorbidity and inequity.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of comorbid depression and associated factors among hospitalized type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Hunan, China. The results showed that the prevalence of comorbid depression was 27.22%, and it was significantly associated with factors such as age, education level, income, and work status. Insulin use, regular physical activity, and social support were independently associated with depression, and a multivariable logistic regression model based on these factors demonstrated good predictivity.
