Summary: Pervious concrete is a special type of concrete used for stormwater management due to its high porosity and permeability, but its low mechanical strength is a drawback. The study used calcium carbide waste and rice husk ash to partially replace Portland cement, finding negative effects on the durability of pervious concrete, with the best performance achieved with 0% RHA and 5% CCW.

Summary: To reduce CO2 emissions, new raw materials have been developed for low-cost CO2 adsorbents. A novel adsorbent, NaX zeolite synthesized from co-combustion ash, was investigated for its preparation condition, modification, characteristics, and CO2 adsorption capacity. The results showed that the synthesized NaX zeolite had high purity and a large surface area, with an adsorption capacity of 5.03 mmol/g at 298.15 K. Modification by Li+ exchange significantly enhanced the CO2 adsorption capacity, with the LiX zeolite having a surface area of 614.0 m(2)/g and an adsorption capacity of 5.57 mmol/g.

Summary: This study highlights the effectiveness of rice husk nanoadsorbent RHN in removing Zn (II) from aqueous solutions. A statistical technique, central composite design of response surface methodology, was used to investigate the removal process by varying adsorption parameters. The study found that Zn (II) removal was most effective at pH 6, dose of 0.8 g/L, and metal ion concentration of 15 mg/L. The adsorption process was found to be well-fitted by Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second order kinetic model. The study also analyzed the regeneration of the RHN adsorbent for three successive cycles.

Summary: Chitosan/B. longum adsorbent was found to have a higher lead (II) adsorption rate compared to other adsorbents, with a maximum adsorption yield of 97.6% under optimal conditions. The Langmuir model provided a better description of the metal adsorption process, suggesting that both chemisorption and physisorption may be involved. This adsorbent showed high selectivity towards lead (II) and foreign ions did not diminish its adsorption capacity.
