Summary: This study examines the importance of regularity in buses' operation for providing good quality service. The objective is to minimize the deviation of dispatching intervals by determining ideal headways and assigning buses to specific lines and departure times. The results show that a flexible scheme improves frequency compliance.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel control policy of providing real-time bus crowding information for passengers to prevent bus bunching. The results show that this policy can reduce operation instability by approximately 20% in terms of bus headway and single-trip time, as well as significantly reduce in-vehicle crowdedness experienced by passengers. The policy is especially effective for bus routes with high passenger demand and shows great application potential in practice.

Summary: Urban mobility is shifting towards more convenient, environmentally friendly, and on-demand services. Capacitated ridesharing is an effective way to reduce traffic congestion and pollution. This study focuses on developing a real-time matching algorithm for on-demand ridesharing. A simulation framework is proposed to optimize the ridesharing assignment algorithm, reducing computational complexity and introducing heuristics. The algorithm demonstrates clear advantages over the current taxi fleet in terms of service rate.

Summary: This article proposes a proactive real-time control method based on data-driven transit demand prediction with multi-source traffic data, aiming to predict possible disturbances and take measures in advance. The bus dispatching time is optimized based on the predicted results to minimize passenger waiting time. Evaluation with real data shows that the control method based on transit demand prediction is suitable for real-time control in the smart transit context.

Summary: This study presents a metaheuristic optimization framework for real-time control of water distribution systems (WDSs), with the objective of minimizing energy consumption while maintaining sustainable system conditions and operations. By forecasting future system conditions based on past and prevailing conditions, the proposed framework achieves more efficient control of WDS. The use of shorter operational time steps in real-time control schemes reduces operational costs and helps utilities plan more reliable and sustainable operational schemes.

Summary: Real-time seizure detection using high spatial frequencies is proposed in this article. By analyzing the eigenvalues of the graph Laplacian, the authors construct a sub-band characteristic response vector and analyze it over time to detect seizure and non-seizure brain states. The proposed approach performs well in real-time automated seizure detection without prior training and is independent of sampling rates.

Summary: This study examines pricing storage operations in real-time markets, proposing a scenario-based stochastic rolling-window dispatch model. It is found that uniform pricing mechanisms may require discriminative out-of-the-market uplifts, but the TLMP model incorporates nonuniform shadow prices to eliminate the need for such uplifts. Additionally, truthful bidding incentives are established for price-taking participants under TLMP, with revenue adequacy and uplifts evaluated in numerical simulations.

Summary: Transit service accessibility improvement is important, and sharing realtime transit information (RTI) with users can decrease wait time and increase accessibility. This study used field trip GPS data to quantify the reduction of transit stop wait time with RTI sharing. The findings showed an average wait time reduction of three minutes and a 37% increase in network-level stop coverage with RTI use. The study justifies wider use of RTI sharing in urban and rural areas.

Summary: The paper introduces a deep videorealistic 3D human character model that learns highly realistic shape, motion, and dynamic appearance from multi-view imagery in a weakly supervised manner, without the need for complex physics simulation. By using novel techniques, the model can achieve motion-dependent surface deformations, physically plausible dynamic clothing deformations, and video-realistic surface textures at a much higher level of detail than previous approaches, even in real-time.
