Summary: This study analyzed the current condition of land suitability for rice paddy cultivation in the Edirne Province of Turkey and assessed how climate change will affect its suitability in the future. The findings showed that the climate conditions in the region will change significantly, leading to an increase in suitable lands for rice paddy cultivation. However, the amount of change varies across models and scenarios. Changes in temperature and solar radiation are expected to have a positive impact on land suitability, while changes in humidity and precipitation will have a negative impact. Additionally, the study highlighted the potential unfavorable effects of climate change on agricultural irrigation infrastructure.

Summary: The study developed an agricultural land suitability map for rice cultivation on severely heavy metal contaminated land in Mae Tao, Thailand. It was found that adding factor D (heavy metal contamination) to the Storie index reduced the suitable area for rice cultivation, although the heavy metal concentrations in rice grain from highly suited and suited land were below the Codex standard for food safety and quality.

Summary: A validated model was presented to map land suitability for Biological Wastewater Treatment (BWWT) systems under the climatic conditions of Lebanon and the Litani River basin. Results showed that the potential areas could benefit over 30 regions with a minimum of 60,000 and a maximum of 180,000 beneficiaries, representing 1.5% to 3.75% of the total population.

Summary: This study evaluated the suitability of actual WSG cultivation sites using GIS, finding that some sites may not be suitable for WSG cultivation. The WSG yield showed a relatively low rate of increase compared to the rate of increase in the cultivation area, indicating a decreasing trend in production amount. In regions with high forest coverage, the application of scientific techniques such as GIS is recommended to identify suitable WSG cultivation sites, with the methodology of this study proving to be useful for producing high-quality WSG and sustainable yield.
