Summary: The booming global tourism industry has created challenges for hotel sustainability, especially in managing water, energy, and waste. This study examines how upper echelon characteristics influence the environmental sustainability practices of senior hotel executives in Sri Lanka, using data from 23 in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that participants with strong attitudes, sound educational background, extensive prior experience, foreign exposure, and early exposure to the environment perform better in managing hotel sustainability.

Summary: Between 2009 and 2012, Jeffrey Beall published four articles analyzing 18 publishers and introduced the term "predatory" in scientific publishing. He developed Beall's List in 2012, which became a valuable resource but faced criticism. Despite Beall's legacy, predatory publishing practices have not been eradicated, and there is a need for clearer guidelines for quality journals.

Summary: The study found a high and recurrent amount of unsolicited emails from predatory journals, with around 42% relating to dentistry. Some emails mentioned false impact factors, and some corresponded to journals listed in the NLM catalog. Researchers should be aware of the modus operandi of predatory journals to protect their reputation and that of science.

Summary: This study examines the factors that drive the adoption of sustainable business model innovations (SBMIs). It utilizes a mixed-method approach to identify the factors that have led firms to switch to sustainable business innovation. The study finds that ambidextrous learning in the top management team (TMT) is positively associated with the adoption of SBMIs. Additionally, TMT diversity and university-industry collaboration positively influence ambidextrous learning, but the impact of collaboration on this relationship is negative.

Summary: This study explores the impact of an educational intervention on healthcare workers' knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards predatory publishing. After a 60-minute educational lecture, participants completed a self-administered questionnaire. The majority of participants showed limited awareness and knowledge of predatory publishing, and did not take necessary precautions. The educational intervention improved familiarity, knowledge, awareness of preventive measures, and attitudes towards open access and safe publishing.

Summary: This study focuses on the phenomenon of presumed predatory scientific publications in the field of Educational Sciences, and the utilization of email by editors to request manuscripts. Through analysis of the unsolicited emails, it was found that the majority of the emails were from predatory journals or publishers and half of the article requests did not match the field of the recipient. In addition, more than half of the domains of predatory publishers analyzed have untrustworthy security levels.

Summary: Previous studies have found that the apnea-hypopnea index is similar in young adult Black and White participants, but the composition of apneas and hypopneas may differ between the two groups. This study explored the physiological mechanisms underlying this similarity and found that the index is comprised of more apneas and fewer hypopneas in Black males. These differences may be important to consider when developing therapeutic approaches for sleep apnea in different racial groups.

Summary: In this article, the interannual variability of upper-ocean temperature in the equatorial Indian Ocean is explored using 58 years of comprehensive monthly mean ocean reanalysis data. Three dominant modes of variability are identified, including an intrinsic oscillation and a nonlinear long-term trend in the upper-ocean temperature. These findings highlight the importance of understanding the dynamics of the equatorial Indian Ocean for predicting and studying climate variability.

Summary: This study develops an experimentally validated view factor-based optical model to accurately predict the power output and bifacial gain of bifacial PV power plants. An optimal model for the best performance of bifacial PV at any location is suggested by optimizing parameters such as the pitch, height of installations, and slope. The results show that bifacial PV outperforms monofacial PV in terms of performance and financial gain.

Summary: The heat content in the Indian Ocean has been increasing due to anthropogenic greenhouse warming. The storage location and method of anthropogenic heat in the Indian Ocean are not fully understood yet. Analysis of various datasets reveals a spatial pattern of ocean heat content trend, with enhanced warming in the subtropical southern Indian Ocean but weak to minimal warming in the tropical Indian Ocean. Surface wind changes play a crucial role in shaping this pattern.
