Summary: This article systematically reviews studies on individuals at clinical high-risk for psychosis (CHR) in low and middle-income countries (LAMIC). The review found limitations in conducting CHR research in LAMIC, such as small sample sizes, cross-sectional designs, and follow-up issues. The results of an online poll indicate that 75% of researchers believe that CHR research should be approached differently in LAMIC due to structural and cultural issues.

Summary: Currently, there is no recommended first-line treatment for the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Psychosocial and behavioural interventions are commonly used to reduce the burden of these symptoms. Meta-analytic studies have summarized the evidence for specific interventions but have not compared the quality of evidence and the level of benefit.

Summary: Emerging evidence suggests that individuals with severe mental illness (SMI) are at an increased risk of frailty. This systematic review examined the prevalence and correlates of frailty, as well as the efficacy of interventions, in this population. The findings indicate a high prevalence of frailty among individuals with SMI, with associations to physical comorbidity, cognitive deficits, falls, and mortality. However, further research is needed to develop appropriate interventions for frailty in this population.

Summary: There is limited research on domestic violence within ethnic minority communities in high-income countries. This study conducted a meta-ethnography to investigate the barriers and facilitators of help-seeking behaviors among South Asian women who have experienced domestic violence in high-income countries. The findings suggest that socio-cultural norms, fear of negative consequences, immigration status, and insufficient support are key barriers, while safety strategies and support from agencies are facilitators. Both survivors and service providers share similar views on the barriers and facilitators. It is important for government and non-government organizations to understand these barriers and develop interventions to encourage effective help-seeking among South Asian women affected by domestic violence.

Summary: This qualitative study aims to explore healthcare professionals' understanding and clinical practices related to Online Child Sexual Abuse (OCSA). Results show that practitioners have different conceptualizations of OCSA, and they face a generational gap in technology use compared to the young people they work with. Lack of training and organizational barriers are also identified as challenges. The study suggests the need for organizational support, further training, and the use of existing frameworks to address the psychological impacts of OCSA.

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hubs providing access to psychological support for keyworkers were seen as effective and valuable, but some keyworkers had confusion and barriers to accessing the support. Factors such as beliefs about job roles, unsupportive managers, negative workplace cultures, and systemic issues affected the value placed on mental health support. Lack of support from managers and inadequate addressing of the needs of minority ethnic keyworkers were also identified. Improving promotion, accessibility, and cultural competency training are important for the continued success of these Hubs.
