Summary: Involving stakeholders is crucial for moving research evidence into practice. Researchers need to identify and categorize stakeholders, and employ specific tools and strategies to engage them in research and dissemination activities, in order to increase their buy-in for the adoption and sustainment of evidence.

Summary: The dissemination of academic research has undergone significant changes with the advancement of technology and the use of social media. Surgeons now have the opportunity to collaborate on a global scale, share their work more efficiently, receive open peer review, and enhance academic meetings. However, challenges such as lack of author verification, public misinterpretation, and the absence of standardized guidelines need to be addressed to make social media use for research dissemination more effective.

Summary: Dissemination of research results and returning aggregate results to participants are beneficial practices, but health researchers, including genetic counselors, face barriers in reaching broad audiences. A survey of genetic counselors revealed their responsibility and value in disseminating research findings but also the lack of implementation in returning results to participants. Resource and knowledge barriers hinder research dissemination among genetic counselors. Formal training and guidelines specific to research dissemination will enhance their ability to reach wider audiences and maximize research impact.

Summary: The development of information and communication technologies has enabled companies to spread messages globally, with websites playing a key role in the multilingual dissemination of corporate information. Research shows that factors such as company size, area of specialty, and location could impact SMEs' internationalization process. More research and policies are needed to support SMEs in their digitalization and internationalization efforts.

Summary: The specific health needs of service women have been neglected despite their significant representation in the United States Department of Defense. To address this issue, the Center for Health Services Research at the Uniformed Services University has created research briefs to summarize and translate existing literature on reproductive health, infertility, pregnancy loss, and contraceptive use among active duty service women for a non-academic audience. This study evaluates the utility of these research briefs and their ability to inform decision making and provide an understanding of the current literature.

Summary: This study investigated the association between pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes in singleton pregnancies after assisted reproductive technology (ART). The findings showed that women who were overweight or obese before pregnancy through ART were more likely to have a cesarean section, gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational hypertension, and preeclampsia. Moreover, neonates from women who had obesity before pregnancy through ART were more likely to have macrosomia.

Summary: This meta-analysis found that women with obesity experience greater anxiety and depression symptoms during pregnancy compared to women of a healthy weight. Narrative evidence suggests that socioeconomic status and ethnicity may modify the relationship between obesity and mental health symptomology.

Summary: Maternal obesity increases pregnancy-related risks, and additional care should be provided to women with a BMI >= 30 kg/m(2). This systematic review identifies early pregnancy measures of adiposity, such as waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio, that are associated with adverse maternal health outcomes and can be used to predict pregnancy risks.

Summary: This review finds that UK newspaper media negatively frames and oversimplifies the topic of maternal obesity. Exposure to blaming and alarmist messaging in the newspaper media may increase women's guilt, stigma, and internalized weight bias. It suggests that efforts should be made to leverage newspaper media to destigmatize maternal obesity and promote maternal well-being.
