Summary: Circular ecosystem is a fast-growing phenomenon where autonomous yet interdependent actors work together to create and deliver circular value propositions to customers. Research shows that ensuring multiple cycles of value and balanced actors are critical aspects of a circular ecosystem. By introducing a framework, we can better understand and articulate the unique features of circular ecosystems.

Summary: A large fraction of the environmental crisis today is caused by the significant loss of biodiversity driven by human activities. Biodiversity conservation often conflicts with societal goals, but Operations Research (OR) offers analytical models and tools to resolve the conflicts between ecology and economy. The advancement in technology has provided planners with vast amounts of data, challenging traditional approaches. This study provides an overview of the challenges faced by spatial conservation models supported by OR and discusses the progress and optimization of these models through sophisticated algorithms and computational tools. It also explores the potential of collaborative platforms in the era of Big Data to further enhance biodiversity conservation efforts.

Summary: Increased focus on sustainability has led to more complex and boundary-spanning value creation for firms. In order to understand how business models describe external relationships, we conducted a systematic literature review. Through analyzing 49 articles, we identified four conceptualizations of external relationships - collaboration, alliances, networks, and ecosystems - and proposed nine propositions to clarify their meaning. Additionally, we identified blind spots in existing business model research for sustainability, including coopetition, wider inter-organizational and sustainability tensions, and power. Based on these blind spots, we present a research agenda that aims to theorize business models for sustainability while addressing their inherent tensions and contradictions.

Summary: The study suggests that it is advantageous for a large manufacturer to refuse to pay bribes in a procurement auction, as it can still benefit from the corrupted situation. Even when disadvantaged for not bribing, the positive force derived from the right of first refusal may outweigh the information disadvantage, allowing the large manufacturer to maintain an advantage in the competition.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has put the supply chains for medically critical items and common household goods to the test, particularly in terms of severe shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilators in the United States. These shortages have revealed vulnerabilities in the supply chains of essential products during times of crisis, leading to public pressure on corporations to reconsider their supply chains. Drawing from lessons learned during the pandemic, this paper proposes a research agenda and opportunities to develop responsive supply chains to combat future pandemics and major public health emergencies.

Summary: This paper examines the implications of credit-based MSPs in a more general setting, involving two types of farmers and two types of crops. The study finds that strategic farmers can counteract the decisions of myopic farmers and that credit-based MSPs are more effective when the market is dominated by myopic farmers. Additionally, offering MSPs to complementary crops can result in a higher surplus.

Summary: When determining store locations, competing retailers need to consider customers' store choices. Incumbent retailers estimate customer attraction parameters using historical data, while new entrants can observe the location structure of incumbents to estimate these parameters. We propose an inverse optimization approach to help new entrants improve their profits by identifying parameter combinations that lead to observed equilibrium solutions.
