Summary: The protection system plays a vital role in different subsystems of the power network. The research focuses on improving the overall performance by optimizing the operational time of directional over current relays (DOCRs) through a new optimization strategy. The results show that the synergy of fractional calculus, particle swarm optimization (PSO) and gravitational search algorithm (GSA) enhances the performance of the optimizer.

Summary: In 2021, a meta-heuristic algorithm called Reptile Search Algorithm (RSA) was proposed, which simulates the cooperative predatory behavior of crocodiles. However, RSA may get stuck in local optima due to the influence of crocodile predation mechanism, resulting in poor overall performance. To address this, the Improved RSA with Ghost Opposition-based Learning (IRSA) is proposed, which introduces a local escape operator and restart strategy to improve exploration ability and balance exploration and exploitation. Experimental results on benchmark functions demonstrate that IRSA has good optimization performance, robustness, and effectiveness in solving practical problems.

Summary: In this paper, the optimal coordination of over current relay in distribution system is achieved by proposing an opposition learning-based gravitational search algorithm. This algorithm searches for the best solution from both directions in the search space, minimizing total operating time of relays. The simulation results demonstrate significant improvement (20-40%) in relay total operating time for different scenarios, showing the effectiveness of the proposed method for relay coordination optimization.

Summary: In this study, the fractional monotone approximation theory is extended to abstract fractional monotone approximation, which is applied to Prabhakar fractional calculus and non-singular kernel fractional calculi. The constrained approximation is covered on both the left and right sides using linear abstract left or right fractional differential operators. Additionally, the target function can be quantitatively approximated with uniform convergence rates using polynomials and the first modulus of continuity.

Summary: In this study, a framework based on operator theory in fractional Sobolev spaces is constructed to deal with fractional derivatives and time-fractional differential equations. This framework provides a feasible extension of the classical Caputo and the Riemann-Liouville derivatives within Sobolev spaces of fractional orders, including negative ones. It allows for a unified treatment of fractional calculus and time-fractional differential equations.

Summary: This work introduces a fractional generalization of the classical Moisil-Teodorescu operator, providing a concise mathematical formulation for physical systems in various branches of science and engineering. The Stillinger's formalism is combined with quaternionic analysis in a novel way, and a quaternionic reformulation of a fractional time-harmonic Maxwell system is established, demonstrating a deep relation between its solutions and those of the perturbed fractional Moisil-Teodorescu operator. Furthermore, the fractional constructions here will have further applications in areas such as hydrodynamics and magneto hydrodynamics.

Summary: In this study, we delve into the general theory of operator kernel functions in operational calculus and establish a mapping relation between the kernel function and the corresponding operator. This research demonstrates the uniqueness of the kernel function and provides a novel perspective on how operational calculus can be understood and applied. The accuracy of the proposed method is substantiated through consistency tests and its application is illustrated in different structures. These results highlight the importance of this study for the understanding and application of operational calculus.

Summary: In this paper, we propose a mathematical model to describe impulsive behavior using integro-differential equations (I-DE). We investigate the periodic boundary value problems for a class of fractional I-DEs with non-quick impulses in Banach spaces. Utilizing the measure of non-compactness, the method of resolving domestic, and the fixed point result, we provide several sufficient conditions for the existence of mild outcomes for I-DE. Finally, we present a set of examples to illustrate the key findings of our research, which are contributed to recent works in this field.

Summary: Special functions, typically named after early scientists, have specific applications in mathematical physics or other areas of mathematics. By using q-fractional calculus, the geometric properties of the generalized Prabhakar fractional differential operator in the open unit disk are investigated. The methodology involves the use of differential subordination and superordination theory, resulting in the organization of numerous fractional differential inequalities and the study of solutions to special kinds of q-fractional differential equations.

Summary: Our study is based on the modification of the widely known predator-prey equation, the Lotka-Volterra competition model, to investigate the population of healthy and cancerous cells within tumor tissue in cancer patients. We utilize fractional differentiation and bi-geometric calculus to obtain a more flexible model. The Arzela-Ascoli theorem is applied to guarantee the existence and uniqueness of the model, and the bi-geometric analogue of the numerical method provides an effective tool for approximating the solution. The visual graphs generated using MATLAB program further enhance our understanding.
