Summary: Laryngeal verrucous carcinoma (LVC) is a rare type of laryngeal cancer with better survival and recurrence outcomes compared to laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma. The role of radiotherapy in treatment regimens requires further investigation in prospective controlled studies.

Summary: Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) have been shown to be prognostically significant in Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (LSCC), with high stromal TIL, CD8+ TIL, and CD3+/CD4+ TIL associated with better clinical outcomes. Evaluation of TIL in HE sections and assessment of CD3+, CD4+, and/or CD8+ TIL levels may serve as predictive markers for patient prognosis in LSCC.

Summary: Verrucous carcinoma is a rare and highly differentiated variant of squamous cell carcinoma. It is difficult to diagnose preoperatively and surgical excision is recommended as the first-line treatment.

Summary: Laryngeal chondrosarcomas are rare malignancies with varying presentations and effects on respiratory, phonation, and swallowing. This study found that leaving some tumor in the posterior cricoid region during surgery was not life-threatening, and contributed to preserving joint function. No disease-specific deaths were reported during the follow-up period.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the role of pretreatment TILs in patients with advanced LSCC undergoing the bioselection paradigm. A high CD8 TIL count was found to be an independent predictor of improved 5-year disease-specific survival and significantly associated with the degree of clinical response after induction chemotherapy in patients with advanced LSCC.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the epidemiological, clinical, and oncological outcomes of young patients with LC. The results showed that young patients with LC had a lower proportion of smokers and drinkers and better overall survival. However, there was significant heterogeneity between studies.

Summary: This systematic review aimed to summarize current knowledge on testicular metastasis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). It was found that approximately one-third of RCC cases are recognized in its metastatic stage. Testicular metastasis suggests advanced disease stage, with swelling and enlargement of the affected testis as the main symptoms. Understanding the possibility of such RCC metastases is crucial for making an appropriate diagnosis and implementing timely treatment in the management of neoplastic disease.

Summary: For penile verrucous carcinoma, local excision is a conservative treatment method, especially suitable for tumors with a diameter of less than 3cm and classified as T1 stage. This method can preserve function and aesthetics to the greatest extent.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the treatment strategy for appendiceal tumors (ATs), including laparoscopic surgery (LS), and identify preoperative predictors of malignancy. The study found that clinical symptoms, tumor markers, and imaging features can serve as predictors of malignancy. LS is a feasible and effective method for the diagnosis and treatment of ATs.

Summary: The study found that artificial intelligence (AI) has high accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity in diagnosing laryngeal lesions during laryngeal endoscopy. The use of larger databases further improves accuracy. The AI models perform well in distinguishing healthy laryngeal tissue and differentiating between benign and malignant lesions. There is no significant difference in diagnostic effectiveness between narrow band imaging and white light endoscopy images.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the possible association between laryngeal H. pylori infection and laryngeal cancer in Taiwan, and performed a systematic review of previous reports in other countries. The findings indicated that the rates of H. pylori infection in Taiwanese patients were relatively low compared to global studies. While evidence supports the association between H. pylori infection and laryngeal cancer worldwide, it may not play a role in the development of laryngeal cancer in Taiwan.

Summary: High-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) is associated with cervical cancer, other anogenital cancers, and oropharyngeal carcinomas. Low-risk HPV, especially HPV6 and HPV11, can cause genital warts and laryngeal papillomas. However, there is evidence suggesting that HPV6 and HPV11 may also cause malignant lesions at non-cervical anatomic sites.

Summary: A systematic review and meta-analysis showed that cytological examination from Tao brush endometrial sampling has a high diagnostic accuracy in diagnosing endometrial premalignancy and malignancy. It can be proposed as a screening and diagnostic tool, but further studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: Verrucous esophageal carcinoma is a rare subtype of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma with distinct clinical and genomic features. It is usually detected at earlier stages compared to ESCC, and has a lower rate of lymph node metastases. Advanced stage was identified as the only significant factor affecting survival.
