Summary: The study aimed to assess the risks for maternal and neonatal outcomes associated with elective delivery at different gestational ages ranging from 37 0/7 to 39 6/7 weeks among women with at least 2 previous cesarean deliveries. The results showed that elective delivery at 39 weeks was associated with decreased risk for adverse outcomes compared to expectant management.

Summary: This study suggested that TOLAC was effective in decreasing cesarean delivery rates in the Chinese population. The induction of labor was positively associated with TOLAC failure, while the thickness of the lower uterine segment was negatively associated with TOLAC failure.

Summary: The study found that previous preterm cesarean delivery is not associated with an increased risk of uterine rupture, but is slightly related to an increased risk of placental abruption and postpartum hemorrhage.

Summary: The study found an association between previous failed vacuum delivery leading to second-stage cesarean sections and subsequent preterm birth. This finding has important clinical implications for pregnancy management and patient counseling.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of a previous pregnancy and delivery on perineal trauma rates in subsequent vaginal birth and found that failed operative vaginal delivery and second-stage emergency cesarean section were associated with increased risk of OASIS, while previous vaginal delivery with intact perineum was associated with decreased risk of OASIS.

Summary: Over one in six patients with antepartum stillbirth underwent cesarean delivery. Among patients who attempted labor, rate of vaginal delivery was generally high, suggesting a potential opportunity to increase vaginal delivery in this population.

Summary: This study evaluates dystocia in dogs, finding that the age and prior C-sections of bitches can impact the risk of future C-sections. Additionally, the timing and intervention of C-sections can significantly impact the survival rate of the offspring.

Summary: This study found that intrapartum epidural analgesia was associated with a small increase in the risk of ASD in offspring. However, the biological plausibility of this association remains unclear, and caution should be exercised when interpreting the findings.

Summary: The study found that pregnant women with PCOS have a higher risk of preterm birth and cesarean delivery compared to those without PCOS, but there is no significant association with low birthweight, high birthweight, or stillbirth.

Summary: The study found that pregnancies between gestational ages 41(+4)-42(+0) weeks had a higher incidence of neonatal morbidity and birth complications compared to pregnancies between gestational ages 41(+0)-41(+3) weeks. This information could assist clinicians in determining the appropriate timing for induction of labor in late-term pregnancies.

Summary: In high-income settings, it is generally agreed upon that pregnant women with a previous cesarean section should have the choice between planning another cesarean section or opting for vaginal birth after cesarean, as long as there are no contraindications. Clinical guidelines recommend providing counseling on the associated risks and benefits to help women make an informed decision. Recent research suggests that planned vaginal birth after cesarean is associated with a higher risk of certain complications but also has benefits such as shorter hospital stays and increased likelihood of breastfeeding.

Summary: Women with endometriosis are at increased risk of gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia, preterm birth, placenta previa, placental abruption, cesarean section, and stillbirth during pregnancy. Some studies suggest a potential association between endometriosis and spontaneous hemoperitoneum and bowel perforation in pregnancy.
