Summary: The study evaluated the short-term surgical results of endonasal endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy, achieving a success rate of 86.3%. Gender, age, pathogen spectrum, and histopathological results did not significantly impact surgical success, but patients with rheumatic diseases may have lower success rates. Type II diabetes and glaucoma patients had longer hospital stays.

Summary: Lacrimal sac diverticulum is a rare condition with a female predominance. It may be the underlying cause of epiphora and/or dacryocystitis, and endoscopic DCR is an effective approach for symptom resolution in these cases.

Summary: ADULT syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant inherited disease caused by mutations in the TP63 gene, leading to clinical manifestations such as lacrimal duct obstruction. This case report identified additional clinical manifestations of eyelid fusion and abnormal finger development, along with a unique gene mutation site.

Summary: Preoperative lacrimal endoscopic evaluation allows for direct visualization of the lacrimal duct system, providing a more accurate diagnosis and guiding the selection of the best surgical option. This can lead to better outcomes, potentially changing the traditional management of the LDS paradigm.

Summary: A new type of hydrogel plug has been developed for the treatment of dry eye. This plug has excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, and can be noninvasively monitored using near-infrared light. In vivo tests have shown that the hydrogel plug can effectively block the lacrimal passages and greatly improve the clinical indicators of dry eye.

Summary: Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a life-threatening lung disease. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) have been evaluated as a therapy for ARDS, and the use of MSCs for ARDS induced by Covid-19 has shown positive results. Clinical and experimental studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of MSCs in treating sepsis and ARDS.

Summary: Acute post-infections glomerulonephritis (APIGN) is a common cause of acute glomerulonephritis in children, potentially leading to severe renal failure. Activation of the alternative and terminal complement pathways is common in APIGN, and treatment with eculizumab may help in recovery of renal function.

Summary: This study demonstrates that posterior DCR treatment for lacrimal sac mucoceles is effective in achieving resolution of infection and improving symptoms in the majority of cases. However, some patients may still experience social impacts due to lacrimal way malfunctioning after the surgery.

Summary: MRONJ is a serious drug-related side effect most common in people using antiresorptive and/or angiogenic medications. Treatment options include conservative measures, surgical procedures, and adjuvant therapies. Surgical treatment is emphasized for advanced lesions, while various alternative therapies show promising potential for improving outcomes.

Summary: Developing the adverse outcome pathway (AOP) framework is a promising approach to identify potential hazards of new chemicals to the environment and human health. Utilizing data from comparative toxicogenomics database (CTD) and Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) helps in developing reliable and sensible AOPs. This method speeds up AOP development by collecting fragmented bioinformation in published studies efficiently.
