Summary: This study reveals that elevated expression of HOXA7 is associated with metastasis and poor prognosis in KRAS mutant colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. HOXA7 overexpression enhances the metastatic ability of KRAS mutant cells and promotes the infiltration of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). Furthermore, blocking MDSC infiltration can effectively suppress the metastasis of KRAS mutant CRC. Therefore, interrupting the HOXA7-mediated loop may provide a promising strategy for the treatment of this disease.

Summary: In this study, the upregulation of Flotillin-1 in gastric cancer was observed and correlated with a worse prognosis. Overexpression of Flotillin-1 enhanced the migration and invasion ability of gastric cancer cells, while knockdown of Flotillin-1 inhibited metastasis. Flotillin-1 promoted gastric cancer cell metastasis through inducing EMT process.

Summary: A novel metastasis suppressive circular RNA, circPOKE, has been identified in breast cancer. circPOKE binds to USP10 and reduces its binding to Snail, thereby affecting Snail stability and inhibiting the metastatic potential of breast cancer cells through the protein-ubiquitination degradation pathway. Additionally, circPOKE can be secreted into the extracellular space via exosomes and significantly inhibits the invasive capabilities of breast cancer cells. These findings suggest that circPOKE may serve as a potential therapeutic target for breast cancer metastasis.

Summary: L-theanine has been shown to inhibit invasion and migration of prostate cancer cells, as well as increase cell-cell adhesion. It also suppresses the epithelial-mesenchymal transition process in PCa. Through downregulating certain proteins and inhibiting specific signaling pathways, L-theanine shows therapeutic potential for metastatic prostate cancer.

Summary: Despite the usually indolent behavior and relatively good overall prognosis of thyroid carcinomas, they can exhibit high invasiveness and metastatic tendencies in some cases. The zinc-finger transcription factor Snail-1 is a well-known regulator of cancer invasiveness, playing a key role in inducing EMT and regulating chemoresistance and CSC formation in thyroid cancer cells.

Summary: Using human colon cancer DLD-1 cells, the study engineered a cell line with inducible Snail expression and found that partial EMT induced by Snail overexpression in DLD-1 cells leads to chemoresistance, increased tumor growth, and decreased apoptosis, highlighting the importance of bioavailable Snail in determining the phenotypic outcome.

Summary: The study revealed that ZIP4 is overexpressed in NSCLC tissues, correlating with poor survival rates. Overexpressed ZIP4 promotes cell migration, invasion, and metastasis, associated with the Snail-N-cadherin signaling axis.

Summary: Omeprazole directly binds to Snail protein and inhibits its acetylation and promotes degradation, leading to suppression of cancer cell invasion, metastasis, and tumor growth. This study suggests Omeprazole may serve as an excellent auxiliary drug for treating patients with malignant tumors.

Summary: This study confirms the heterogeneity of CRC-LM CAFs through single-cell transcriptomic analysis and proposes a model for recruiting different origins of CAFs to the liver in different liver malignancies. Additionally, the study finds that targeting LTBP2 with antibodies may help deplete ECM-remodeling CAFs in CRC-LMs.

Summary: This study explored the role of lncRNA LINC02870 in tumorigenesis and metastasis and found that LINC02870 may be a potential oncogene in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). LINC02870 was upregulated in HCC tissues and overexpression of LINC02870 promoted the growth, migration, and invasion of HCC cells. Further analysis identified EIF4G1 as the binding protein of LINC02870, and LINC02870 increased the translation of SNAIL to induce malignant phenotypes in HCC cells. Higher expression levels of LINC02870 and EIF4G1 correlated with poor prognosis and tumor progression in HCC patients.

Summary: The study constructed a high-resolution spatial transcriptome map of primary liver cancers and revealed the evolution of tumor microenvironment characteristics from nontumor to tumor regions. It proposed a signature for accurately locating tertiary lymphoid structures spatially and identified interactions related to TME remodeling and tumor metastasis.

Summary: The study identified that decreased expression of Par3 is associated with aggressive phenotypes and poor prognosis in BLCA patients. Inhibition of GSK-3 beta promotes Snail expression and nuclear localization, leading to reduced Par3 expression and metastasis of BLCA cells. Additionally, an interaction between Par3 and ZO-1 was detected, which is involved in maintaining tight junctions in BLCA cells.
