Instant adsorption of Congo Red (CR) by a 1D coordination polymer, [(H2L)(0.5)][Zn(1,2,3-BTA)(H2O)]center dot 2H(2)O (1 center dot 2H(2)O), leads to the formation of a unique dye composite 1 center dot 0.75CR center dot 6H(2)O, which demonstrates a remarkably enhanced photocurrent response compared to that of its precursor.
