Summary: This study proposes a framework to stimulate local transactions using a 2-round auctioning system and a novel settlement approach. By implementing auctions and increasing trust, the development of local trade can be encouraged. The results show that the pure 2-round auction can decrease trading with the retailer, and the proposed settlement mechanism can reduce buyers' payments and increase sellers' encashments.
