Summary: In this study, calcium phosphate nanoparticles were synthesized using a scalable hydrothermal method with significantly lower holding time. The effects of surfactants and dopants on the nanoparticles formation process were discussed, with the possibility of regulating morphological parameters demonstrated. Additionally, the thermal properties of the nanoparticles were reported, showing the influence of surfactant presence on preventing sintering at high temperatures and shifting decomposition temperature to higher values.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of calcination on the physicochemical and biological properties of nanoHAP, as well as the influence of doping with magnesium, strontium, and zinc. The results show that calcination induces particle agglomeration and changes in surface morphology of nanoHAP, but ion substitution does not affect the apatite structure. The combination of calcination and ion modification promotes cell proliferation and osteoblast response.

Summary: A transparent glass-ceramic containing Y2Sn2O7 crystal was synthesized, and the optimal heat treatment conditions were determined. The different microstructures of precursor glasses and glass-ceramics were explored using fluorescence probe characteristics. The emission spectra of Dy2O3-Eu2O3 co-doped glass-ceramic samples showed energy transfer of Dy3+-*Eu3+ and the potential to obtain warm white light.

Summary: Silver-substituted hydroxyapatites were prepared using a planetary ball mill. The samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction, FTIR spectroscopy, and simultaneous thermal analysis. It was found that single-phase substituted hydroxyapatites could be obtained with silver concentrations up to 1.5. Increasing the silver concentration resulted in an increase in crystal volume and unit-cell parameters. At a silver concentration of 2.0, an impurity phase of silver phosphate was detected. The thermal stability of the synthesized samples depended on the degree of substitution of calcium cations by silver cations.

Summary: Powders based on beta-tricalcium phosphate (3-TCP) containing up to 12.0 mol.% sulphate groups were synthesized through chemical precipitation. Characterization of the materials included X-ray phase analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, specific surface area measurement, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive analysis, synchronous thermal analysis, mass spectra investigations, and biological assays. The findings showed that the sulphate groups present in the materials were lost during heat treatment at 900 or 1200 C, and these groups contributed to the formation of hydroxyapatite at high concentration. The powders exhibited specific surface areas in the range of 81.7-96.5 m(2)/g, and demonstrated cytocompatibility and matrix properties in cell culture.

Summary: The strength retention of Al-Ce binary alloys at high temperatures was assessed compared to A380 alloy and pure Al. The Al11Ce3 eutectic and proeutectic phases were found to have limited effectiveness in strengthening Al-Ce alloys at room temperature and retaining their strength at increased temperatures. Despite the high hardness retention ratio of Al-Ce alloys, the yield stress decreased with testing temperatures.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of Gd2O3 and CeF3 modifications on potassium gadolinium phosphate glasses scintillators. Results showed that the optimal concentrations for Gd2O3 and CeF3 were 9 and 17 mol% and 5 mol%, respectively. These findings are important for the research and development of radiation detector materials.

Summary: The present study investigates the influence of annealing conditions on phase transformations in calcium phosphates. The phase composition and Ca/P ratio in the final product highly depend on the annealing conditions due to the evaporation of phosphate species. Drastic changes in stoichiometry and phase composition were observed after annealing in a vacuum.

Summary: This study investigated the phase transition of Ca-deficient hydroxyapatite (CDHA) with citric acid (Cit) coordination. The addition of Cit promoted the substitution of K+ ions into CDHA, resulting in the formation of the HA phase. Doping K+ increased the phase transition temperature of CDHA, leading to the transition to beta- and alpha-tricalcium phosphates at higher temperatures. These findings suggest the controllable phase transition via the addition of Cit.
