Summary: Multiple access technology is crucial for efficient and reliable user access in communication systems. However, conventional technologies are not suitable for future 6G systems that require ultra-high reliability, low latency, and massive connectivity. Unsourced random access (URA) is a promising multi-access technology that enables users to share a common codebook and simplifies decoding process. This article summarizes and compares existing random access schemes and highlights the advantages of URA for 6G systems. It also discusses URA applications in user-specific and user-independent scenarios and suggests potential research directions.

Summary: Industrial metaverse aims to create an immersive virtual space that interacts with physical space, enhancing operation and process efficiency. Short-packet communication plays a significant role in data exchange, requiring high reliability and low latency. Achieving an immersive and interactive industrial metaverse is challenging due to strict communication requirements and limited resources. This study investigates the coupling relationships of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in 6G URLLC and explores the potential of optimizing short-packet structure to improve these KPIs. The co-design of sensing, communication, control, and computing is proposed to realize real-time intelligence, and future research directions are discussed.

The framework provides a roadmap for future investigations of RMSIs in the metaverse, highlighting the roles of mediating and moderating forces and interactional formats.

Therefore, solutions that address all aspects of the network, from mobile access points to edge cloud, need to be considered together.
