Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS), an emerging high-fatality infectious disease, is caused by a novel bunyavirus. However, a clear natural transmission model has not yet been established. We conducted a cross-sectional study with in-depth investigation of villages to systematically understand the transmission and risk factors among humans, host animals, and vectors. Village residents were interviewed using standardized questionnaires, in which there were confirmed cases of new infections, between August 2012 and May 2013. Serum samples from all villagers and animals, as well as tick specimens, were collected for qRT-PCR and antibody testing. The seropositivity rate among villagers was 8.4% (35/419), which was lower than that among domesticated animals (54.0%, 27/50; chi(2) = 81.1, P < 0.05). SFTS viral RNA was most commonly detected among domesticated animals (14.0%), followed by ticks (3.1%) and humans (1.7%; chi(2) = 23.1, P < 0.05). The homology of the S gene fragment was 98%. Tick bites were significantly associated with SFTSV infection (Conditional Logistic Regression odds ratio [OR] = 2.5, 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.0-6.6). We provided systematic evidence on a natural transmission model for SFTSV from reservoir hosts (domesticated animals) to vectors (Haemaphysalis longicornis) to humans, and close contact with SFTS confirmed patients was not found to be a risk factor for natural transmission.

Summary: Monetary incentives and peer referral can enhance the secondary distribution of HIV self-testing kits among men who have sex with men in China. Monetary incentives alone may be more cost-effective, but the combined intervention has larger effects on promoting HIV testing in this population.

Summary: The awareness and willingness of MSM to use PrEP varied among countries with different economic status, and the main facilitators for willingness to use PrEP were PrEP awareness, high perceived risk of HIV infection and influence of social network. The proportions of PrEP awareness and willingness to use PrEP among MSM have increased since 2014, with higher willingness after 2014.

Summary: This study investigated the disclosure of sexual orientation among gay and bisexual men attending university in China and examined factors associated with disclosure. The results showed that men who served as student leaders and donated blood were more likely to disclose their sexual orientation, while men who had sex with a female and engaged in group sex were less likely to disclose. Mental health status and HIV/STI infections were not found to be associated with disclosure.

Summary: This study found that sexual sensation seeking moderates the relationship between alcohol/popper use before sex and multiple sexual partners among men who have sex with men. The association between popper use before sex and multiple sexual partners is significant for men with low sexual sensation seeking, but not for men with high sexual sensation seeking.

Summary: This study aimed to assess mpox knowledge and attitude towards mpox vaccination among male sex workers (MSW) in China. Results showed that 49.4% of the MSWs had good knowledge of mpox and 63.0% were willing to be vaccinated against it. Factors associated with good knowledge included being single, being unemployed, and willingness to be vaccinated. Age, history of chronic diseases, and agreement with prioritizing high-risk groups for vaccination were related to willingness to get vaccinated.
