Summary: The 2020 Jiashi M6.4 earthquake occurred in the Kaping fold-and-thrust belt in the southwestern Chinese Tien Shan Mountain, an area with high seismic hazard. The seismogenic structure responsible for the earthquake is still debated, with research suggesting most events occurred beneath the decollement and inside the Tarim Craton. The study provides new insights into the seismogenic structure of earthquakes resulting from the reactivation of ancient structures in a stable craton.

Summary: This article explores how French laws criminalize the bodies and attire of Muslim women, highlighting an institutional Islamophobia deeply rooted in French society. It argues that these laws perpetuate a logic of hygiene and racial purity within the French republic, cleansing public spaces of colonial markers and displacing colonial memory. The historical foundation of humiliation and cleanliness post-WWII is linked to the pro-ban feminist arguments supporting the criminalization of Islamic dress in France.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of examining the health and safety of all workers, especially frontline hospital service workers (HSWs). This paper utilizes in-depth interviews conducted with HSWs from 2017 to 2020 to understand the evolving nature and challenges of their work. The interviews reveal that the HSWs' approach to labor aligns with a feminist ethic of care, which they perceive to be consistently violated by their employer, leading to poor working conditions that threaten the well-being of workers and patients. The ethic of care framework, informed by the workers' experiences, can guide organizational changes to improve both occupational health and patient care.
