Summary: A highly stable and active Ni catalyst supported on CeO2 nanorods was reported for CO2 methanation, outperforming the commercial CeO2 counterpart, with similar Ni loadings achieved but with smaller NiClusters obtained on nanorods. By structuring the reactor bed on mu-monoliths and supporting the Ni catalyst on CeO2 nanorods, fast deactivation observed on Ni loaded on commercial CeO2 was prevented, achieving high reaction rates and negligible deactivation even after 90 hours of fluctuating operation.

Summary: A hierarchical flower-like NiCu/SiO2 bimetallic catalyst was successfully prepared and applied for the catalytic hydrogenation of petroleum resin. The catalyst exhibited enhanced catalytic activity and stability, with significantly higher hydrogenation degrees reached for C5PR and C9PR compared to those using a catalyst prepared via an impregnation method. The synergistic effect between Ni-Cu bimetals and the highly porous superstructure contributed to the notably enhanced performances, providing guidance for the design and synthesis of efficient and stable bimetallic nanocatalysts for PR hydrogenation.

Summary: The objective of this study was to synthesize calcium silicate hydrates in dense samples and apply them for copper ion adsorption and oxidation catalyst for volatile organic compounds. Different mineralogical compositions, density, and compressive strength were observed in samples synthesized for different durations. Calcium silicate hydrates synthesized in dense samples could effectively remove copper ions from liquid medium, while the efficiency depended on the properties of the medium and synthesis duration. The synthetic samples combined with copper ions exhibited catalytic activity for methanol oxidation.

Summary: A composite photoelectrode B-nGO/H:(NiO/TiO2) NTs with a unique heterostructure nanotube arrays was synthesized. The p-n junction created between p-type NiO and n-type TiO2 facilitates the electron-hole pair separation and interfacial electron transfer. The introduction of boron-doped reduced nanographene oxide nanoparticles (B-nGO NPs) and hydrogenation treatment further optimize the electron-hole separation and enhance the electron transfer. The as-synthesized B-nGO/H:(NiO/TiO2) NTs exhibit a high photocurrent density and an effective photoconversion efficiency under simulated sunlight irradiation.

Summary: The live-streaming industry in China is huge and highly competitive, leading to the formation of "live-streaming guilds" where streamers join forces to improve their rankings on various platforms. This article explores one such guild that operates on the Zhubei platform, revealing how these guilds optimize streamers' performances based on algorithmic parameters disclosed by the platforms. Interestingly, the guilds also manipulate audience reactions by having male workers pose as female streamers to attract generous tipping from straight male viewers.

Summary: With the rapid development of China's economy and improvement of people's living standards, large-scale infrastructure constructions have increased. This study focused on the environmental thermal changes of Beijing Daxing International Airport before and after its construction and operation. The results showed that the urban surface heat island effect in the area significantly increased after the construction and operation of the airport. The random forest classification algorithm was used to analyze the relationship between land types and the urban heat island effect, revealing that the thermal pollution from the airport had a greater impact on ground objects within a range of 7.5 km.

Summary: This study investigated the role of efferocytosis in chronic pancreatitis (CP) and its underlying mechanisms. The findings suggest that impaired efferocytosis and dysregulated phospholipid metabolism contribute to the development of CP. The acinar Atp8b1/LPC pathway, regulated by the transcription factor Bhlha15, plays a protective role in CP. These findings provide potential therapeutic targets for improving current CP therapies.

Summary: The Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method is increasingly popular in uncertainty analysis of hydrological simulation. However, the estimation of the constant standard deviation (02) in the approach is subjective, hindering performance improvement. This study investigates the statistical meaning of parameter 02 and develops a new label called Confidence Level of Model (CLM) to interpret it. The MCMC method based on CLM performs well in generating regular posterior distributions and narrow, symmetrical confidence intervals.

Summary: In this study, a novel circRNA called circ-PRKCI was found to promote the proliferation of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) through the miR-545-3p/CCND1 signaling pathway. It was also discovered that tumor cell-derived exosomal circ-PRKCI could enhance the proliferation, migration, and invasion of RCC cells while inhibiting apoptosis. This study provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms of RCC progression.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the anti-tumor effects and underlying mechanisms of Enzalutamide (ENZ) and Arsenic trioxide (ATO) co-treatment on castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). The combination of ENZ and ATO significantly inhibited cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and induced cell arrest and apoptosis in C4-2B cells. The effects were further verified in subcutaneous tumor models and tissue sections from the xenografts. ENZ combination with ATO synergistically improved the therapeutic effects and suppressed CRPC progression through regulation of the ATR-CHEK1-CDC25C pathway.

Summary: This study evaluates the performance of IMERG products in different spatial and temporal scales during the summer seasons in mainland China. The results show that IMERG can capture the spatial patterns of precipitation characters, but it tends to overestimate precipitation amount and intensity while underestimating precipitation frequency. The performance of IMERG improves when scaled up to coarser scales, and it shows better performance in larger regions and during longer periods.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of board culture on bank innovation and explores the mechanisms involved. Using the cultural context of the East and state-owned bank attributes, data from China's A-share listed banks between 2003 and 2018 were analyzed. Results indicate that indicators of masculinity, indulgence, and cultural diversity are positively correlated with bank innovation, while power distance and uncertainty avoidance are negatively correlated. Further analysis reveals that the impact of Oriental culture on bank innovation is mediated by human capital investment, efficiency, and risk-taking. The findings remain robust after controlling for endogenous issues and factors such as Confucian culture.
