Summary: This study investigates the molecular profile of sporadic pyogenic granuloma and identifies novel oncogenic mutations in key genes of the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. The results provide evidence that activated mitogen-activated protein kinase signalling is a key driver in the pathogenesis of pyogenic granuloma.

Summary: The study demonstrates that sclerotherapy with 1.0% polidocanol is an effective treatment for pediatric PG, with early treatment associated with a more favorable outcome. The procedure resulted in complete excision of PG with inconspicuous scars, well-tolerated, and no observed recurrence, allergic reactions, cutaneous necrosis, or pigmentary changes.

Summary: Oral fibroepithelial polyps (FEPs) are common benign lesions that develop slowly in sites of local irritation or trauma. This study analyzed FEPs in 21 dogs and found that they commonly occur under or lateral to the tongue. The lesions are characterized by a thick fibrovascular stalk and hyperplastic squamous epithelium with frequent inflammation and ulceration. Surgical excision of FEPs resulted in no recurrence. Chronic irritation may play a causative role in the pathogenesis of FEPs in dogs.

Summary: Preoperative diagnosis of IVPG is challenging, and a combination of multiple imaging examinations is necessary to exclude differential diagnoses. Surgical excision resulted in complication-free postoperative follow-up for the patient.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the recurrence of peripheral giant cell granuloma and pyogenic granuloma associated with dental implants. Results showed that tissue excision is the main therapeutic approach, with a high recurrence rate (34.4%) which often requires explantation of the associated implant.

Summary: This study evaluated the immunophenotypic profiles of infiltrating cells in surgically excised tissues of chalazion and chalazion-associated pyogenic granuloma. The findings showed a similar immunophenotypic profile in both conditions, with predominant T cell infiltration and CD4 T cells dominating over CD8 cells.

Summary: The study found that the topical use of propranolol 1% and timolol 0.5% creams shows potential in treating pyogenic granulomas, especially in younger patients. While 40% of lesions did not change in size in the beta-blocker treated groups, they all reported a decreased bleeding tendency, and no recurrence was reported in patients with complete resolution after three months of follow-up.

Summary: This study describes the clinical and pathological features of lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. LCHs in the GI tract often manifest as colorectal polyps, typically small in size and can be multifocal. Follow-up information showed no same-site recurrence in the patients.

Summary: This case report presents a rare case of intestinal intussusception and progressive anemia caused by pyogenic granuloma of the ileum, successfully treated with laparoscopic-assisted small bowel resection. Surgeons should consider the possibility of tumor in similar cases and complete surgical resection is crucial for management.

Summary: Benign vascular neoplasms are common clinical problems in primary care, with pyogenic granulomas being one of the most common benign vascular lesions in young adults. The development of pyogenic granulomas is associated with triggers such as retinoid treatment, biological agents, invasive cutaneous therapies, and trauma. Cases of pyogenic granulomas within vascular malformations like port wine stains are rare, with occurrences reported during pregnancy or after cryotherapy or pulsated laser therapy.

Summary: Umbilical polyps and granulomas in children can be differentiated based on their ultrasonographic features, with polyps showing deep-seated nodules with cyst formation and granulomas showing superficial hypervascular solid nodules. These findings can aid in clinical diagnosis and management.

Summary: Ocular pyogenic granuloma is a benign vascular tumor commonly found in children. Treatment options include steroids, timolol, surgery, cryotherapy, and electrocautery. In this case, a giant pyogenic granuloma in a 13-year-old girl regressed completely after timolol treatment, demonstrating it as a potential noninvasive alternative to surgery.
