Summary: This study analyzed 40 posts written in Hebrew under the hashtag campaign of #Me2PT to explore how survivors conveyed their experiences and perceptions of living with CSA-related posttraumatic symptoms. Four main themes were identified within the narratives: motivation for writing, personal PTSD, the struggle between life and death, and post-trauma as 'a bleeding wound'. These findings highlight the ongoing mental pain and resilience of survivors, as well as the importance of hope and understanding in overcoming trauma.

Summary: The study found that women who experienced sexual abuse before the age of 18 are more likely to engage in sexual risk taking. Posttraumatic stress symptoms have a certain influence on this behavior, and poor behavioral regulation may also predict participation in sexual risk taking.

Summary: This study identified distinct trajectories of PTSD treatment response in childhood sexual abuse survivors, with social support playing a protective role and emotional and detached coping as well as high pretreatment levels of avoidance and reexperiencing symptoms serving as risk factors for PTSD severity and course. These factors could help identify patients at risk of not responding to treatment and could be addressed to improve outcomes for treatment-seeking CSA survivors.

Summary: Sexual minority men who have experienced childhood sexual abuse (CSA) are twice as likely to have a history of suicide attempts compared to those who have not experienced CSA. Among CSA-exposed individuals, the severity of CSA-related PTSD symptoms is prospectively associated with passive suicidal ideation. Regardless of the severity of PTSD symptoms, those with lower social support and greater loneliness are at a higher risk of active suicidal ideation in the future.

Summary: Bisexual women experience worse mental health outcomes, potentially due to higher rates of sexual violence. However, there is limited research on the experiences of bisexual women and bisexual minority stress. Findings indicate that lifetime sexual victimization is associated with increased posttraumatic stress, depression, and alcohol (and other substance) use. Bisexual women are vulnerable to cumulative victimization and require appropriate care, support, and coping strategies.

Summary: Experiencing trauma, such as sexual abuse, increases the risk of negative health outcomes. This study compared two groups of female survivors of sexual abuse, one with lower indication of posttraumatic stress disorder (L-PTSD) and one with higher indication of posttraumatic stress disorder (H-PTSD). The results showed that the H-PTSD group reported more daily hassles, fewer daily uplifts, and more maladaptive coping strategies compared to the L-PTSD group. However, there were few differences in severity of sexual abuse and socioeconomic conditions between the two groups. The findings suggest that interventions targeting daily hassles, uplifts, and coping strategies may be important for survivors of sexual abuse.

Summary: International research has shown that children and adolescents are at risk for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD (CPTSD). This study aimed to test the ICD-11 formulations of PTSD and DSO using the ITQ-CA version in a sample of children exposed to abuse. The findings supported that ITQ-CA is a valid tool for identifying symptoms of ICD-11 PTSD and CPTSD among Danish children exposed to abuse.

Summary: This study found that positive peer and family experiences can buffer the impact of interpersonal trauma by romantic partners and adults in the home. Future research should investigate whether programs aimed at improving peer or family relationships would improve outcomes for traumatized youth.

Summary: This study examined sexual aggression against males, revealing a lower proportion of sexual aggression by females against males in cases of sexual aggression against minors by adults, but a higher proportion in sexual aggression among minors/peers and adults. Although most characteristics of sexual aggression were similar, some differences between male- and female-perpetrated sexual aggression were found.

Summary: This study explored the relationship between rumination and negative affect with PTSD symptoms in interpersonal trauma survivors. Results showed that rumination fully mediated the relationship between negative affect and PTSD symptoms. Treatment considerations should focus on addressing rumination in this population, as it plays a significant role in the development and maintenance of PTSD symptoms.

Summary: Complex PTSD is a severe mental disorder that occurs in response to traumatic life events. It is characterized by multiple severe post-traumatic symptoms and chronic and pervasive disturbances in emotion regulation, identity, and relationships. Progress has been made in the diagnosis and treatment of complex PTSD, with an emphasis on safety, psychoeducation, patient-provider collaboration, and self-regulatory strategies.

Summary: Child abuse has been found to increase the risk of chronic pain and the tendency to personify pain. Recent studies showed a significant association between child abuse and abusive chronic pain personification, with disturbances in self-organization mediating this link. This highlights the impact of interpersonal violence on the experience of the body and the role of self-organization in the relationship between body experience, self, and trauma.

Summary: This study analyzes trajectories in level of supervision ratings for linked entrustable professional activities (EPAs) among pediatric learners in medical school, residency, and fellowship. Learners were rated as needing less supervision over time in each activity within each training period. Transitions between training stages showed variations in the level of supervision required by learners.

Summary: This study focuses on a novel intervention in cultural competency training for undergraduate dental students, aiming to improve cross-cultural communication. The intervention utilized dyad training, roleplaying, Kleinman's Explanatory Model, and a new 'Model for Negotiating Across Cultures'. Evaluation of the intervention showed significant improvement in cultural competency scores for dental students. The intervention can be used as a resource for cross-cultural communication education for dental students and can be expanded to other health professional students.
