Summary: The study aimed to investigate the optimal intraosseous screw placement for the first two sacral segments, revealing distances from screw entrance points to the narrowest portion and measurements of height and width in that area. There were no statistically significant gender correlations found for the measured distances. The results of this anatomical study may assist in performing safe surgical procedures.

Summary: The study indicates that fully threaded TI-TS screw fixation is mechanically superior to partially threaded fixation in a cadaveric vertically unstable transforaminal sacral fracture model, showing less displacement of the posterior pelvic ring and greater load to failure.

Summary: This study compares the biomechanical stability of TITS screw osteosynthesis and sacroiliac screw osteosynthesis in the treatment of osteoporotic pelvic fractures in cadavers. The results suggest that TITS screws provide greater fracture stability and may be prioritized for the treatment of these fractures in elderly patients.

Summary: A retrospective study compared the feasibility and accuracy of a point-to-point coaxial guide apparatus with the free-hand technique in the treatment of posterior ring unstable pelvic fractures. The guide apparatus group had significantly shorter operative times, lower radiation exposure times, and higher accuracy of screw placement compared to the free-hand group.

Summary: The purpose of this study is to describe a pre-operative planning technique for inserting multiple transiliac-transsacral screws and define the parameters for a sacral osseous fixation pathway that allows for dual-screw insertion. The study also aimed to identify the incidence of adequate sacral OFPs in a representative patient population.

Summary: Open pelvic ring injuries are rare and challenging to treat, and there is no well-defined treatment algorithm. Mortality rates are high, with early deaths resulting from severe bleeding and late deaths from wound sepsis and organ failure. Advances in trauma care have improved survival rates, and aggressive resuscitation, early surgical management, and skeletal fixation are key considerations in treatment. Fecal diversion is proposed to reduce sepsis rates, but further research is needed. Overall, understanding the importance of coordinated care and optimal treatment protocols is crucial for optimizing patient outcomes.

Summary: With the aging population, there is a rise in osteoporotic fractures, including U-shaped sacral fractures which can be difficult to diagnose and potentially lead to disability if left untreated. Surgical options for managing U-shaped sacral fractures are discussed to prevent rapid medical decline in elderly patients.

Summary: Pelvic fracture is a severe injury with high mortality and disability rates. Surgical treatment of pelvic fracture is challenging due to the complex pelvic morphology and soft tissue anatomy. This study focuses on three commonly used pelvic holding pathways and identifies the most effective force direction for each pathway through finite element modeling. The use of a combined holding strategy can reduce reduction force, with the 3-pin combined strategy showing advantages in rotational reduction.

Summary: The study found that 3D-assisted surgery technologies have a positive effect on operation time, blood loss, fluoroscopy dose, time and frequency, as well as accuracy of screw placement in pelvic ring injury surgery. However, no improvement in clinical outcome in terms of fracture reduction and functional outcome has been established so far.

Summary: This study investigated the use of the inlet obturator oblique view (IOO) in sacroiliac and transsacral screw placement. The results showed that the IOO view significantly improved the accuracy of screw placement and the assessment of whether the screw head was fully seated against the outer cortex of the ilium.
