We use phonon wave-packet dynamics to study the phonon transmission at UO2 twist grain boundaries as a function of phonon frequency, mode and incident angle. We find that grain boundaries with more disordered structures show stronger phonon transmission than more ordered grain boundaries. The transmission coefficients are used to calculate the grain boundary thermal conductance at elevated temperature. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
