Summary: This was a single-center, retrospective cohort study evaluating the association between vascular calcification on baseline CT imaging and cardiovascular events following ICI. The study found that worse coronary and aortic calcification on pre-treatment CT imaging was associated with cardiovascular events following ICI.

Summary: Acute aortic syndrome (AAS) is a serious group of cardiovascular diseases that pose a significant threat to human life and health. Recent progress in science and technology has led to the application of various computer tomography (CT) angiography techniques in clinical settings, resulting in an increased diagnostic rate of AAS with coronary artery disease (CAD). Additionally, advancements in surgical technology and endovascular repair have significantly reduced mortality and complication rates associated with AAS surgery. Consequently, CT aortic angiography (CTA) combined with coronary CTA is increasingly being used for the identification of related diseases in the clinical diagnosis of AAS.

Summary: Elevated remnant cholesterol is commonly found in ACS patients and is negatively correlated with age and positively correlated with body mass index. Remnant cholesterol is not associated with higher risk of in-hospital mortality, but it is associated with higher long-term risk of mortality and heart failure.

Summary: Results showed no significant association between pSS and HF, and the risk of HF-related hospitalization was not higher in pSS patients compared to the general population. This suggests that different chronic inflammatory diseases may have differential impacts on cardiac function and subsequent risk of HF. Further research is needed to elucidate the mechanisms of HF in various autoimmune diseases.

Summary: In this study, a clinical prediction model was developed through a retrospective analysis of data from 692 patients with CHD combined with AHF, treated at a single center between January and December 2020. The model accurately predicted the 1-year MACE prognosis of these patients, demonstrating its clinical usefulness in guiding early therapeutic intervention.

Summary: Incidence of heart failure (HF) hospitalizations is significant among patients treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Several factors including age, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, previous myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary disease, GRACE risk score >=141, peripheral artery disease, and cardiogenic shock are independently associated with HF hospitalizations.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the variations in care quality for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and its association with mortality at both hospital and patient levels. The analysis of a nationwide database revealed substantial variations in ACS care. High adherence to quality indicators was associated with significant survival gains at both levels, indicating the effectiveness of a multi-level approach in improving survival for this population.

Summary: This study used data from the National Database of Health Insurance Claims and Specific Health Check-ups to examine the change in outpatient visits in Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed a 9.98% decrease in the number of outpatient visits per million people in 2020 compared to 2019. The decrease was observed in visits for infectious and chronic diseases. The analysis method using actual health insurance claim data can be applied globally.

Summary: This study investigated the incidence of ATD-induced leukopenia and G-CSF administration using a claims database in Japan. The results showed a high incidence of leukopenia and G-CSF use, which was not dependent on the duration of ATD use. The study also found a dose-dependent relationship between leukopenia and ATD dosage.

Summary: This study modifies the data structure of the National Database of Health Insurance Claims and Specific Health Checkups of Japan (NDB) using the ID0 key, allowing for long-term cohorts without increasing data volume or runtime. The modified structure improves patient-matching efficiency and long-term tracing performance. The study showcases the application of this method in a six-year mortality cohort study of Japanese citizens, demonstrating its ability to accurately trace patient data in large-scale medical claims databases.

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic, EMS played a crucial role in transporting emergency patients. This study aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of a prehospital COVID-19 screening protocol for EMS. The findings showed that the current screening protocol had low sensitivity and positive predictive value for diagnosing COVID-19, but adding vital signs improved its diagnostic value.
