Summary: This paper presents a method for the experimental investigation of the coating process of a single freestream-fluidized particle by an infrared camera. The coating is dispersed by a nozzle with ultrasonic fluid atomization, allowing constant droplet size at different spray rates. The temperature of the fluidized particle was measured online by an infrared camera to monitor the coating process.

Summary: A Finite Element model is developed to simulate the thermoelastic effect in orthotropic composite laminates subject to cyclic loading. A meso-scale approach is used to model the thermoelastic effect at the lamina level and through-thickness heat transfer. The model accurately captures the dependence of the thermoelastic response on factors such as loading frequency, presence of a resin-rich layer, material system, and layup. Results show that a steady state response is achieved quickly and adiabatic conditions are not fully met even at high loading frequencies. The presence of a resin-rich layer significantly affects through-the-thickness heat transfer and the measured thermoelastic signal.

Summary: This paper proposes a parametrized 3D finite element (FE) framework for simulating optical infrared thermographic inspection of multi-layer anisotropic media and generating a large-scale virtual dataset. The interface element is introduced for simulating various defect types, and non-uniform heating conditions and a stochastic morphology generator are used for realistic simulation. The trained Faster-RCNN model demonstrates excellent performance on experimental thermographic data.

Summary: This study proposed a method to generate rock mass point clouds combining optical and infrared thermal imaging data for describing temperature distributions and multitemporal surface temperatures. Despite the low resolution of the IR sensor, the 3D thermal point clouds showed high geometric accuracy, making them suitable for monitoring the thermal behavior of jointed rock masses.

Summary: The objective of this study was to evaluate the temperatures on the sole of the foot after a 10-km run using two models of socks with different weave separations. Results showed that both models of socks led to an increase in temperature, but the one with narrower weave separation had higher temperature under the first metatarsal head.

Summary: This study investigates the electro-thermal coupling behavior of 3-D braided composite under direct current, with the temperature from Joule heat reducing electric resistance and contact resistance in the composite. The reduction range depends on the temperature effect on electrical conductivity, and a finite element analysis model was developed to demonstrate temperature distribution in the composite under a current density of 32 kA m(-2). The temperature decrease at the two ends of the composite sample compared to the center region is attributed to Joule heat generated from the electric resistance of carbon fiber tows, leading to non-uniform temperature distribution.

Summary: This study used infrared thermography to monitor the thermal state of water buffalo calves during the first 6 days of life. The results showed that the surface temperatures of six thermal windows were associated with birth weight, and calves with higher birth weight had higher temperatures.

Summary: Detecting early signs of heat stress in dairy farming is crucial. This study identified critical THI thresholds for ST in dairy cows and evaluated the effects of lactation stage and number. The findings suggest that STave is more suitable for defining thresholds, with cheek STave being a primary variable for determining critical THI thresholds.
