Summary: This article proposes a method of input design for wireless power transfer (WPT) systems based on receding horizon D-optimization. The system's dynamic behavior is characterized by a discrete-time, single-input, single-output (SISO) model, and the model parameters are estimated using a recursive least-squares (RLS) method. The excitation signal of the system is designed based on receding horizon D-optimization to improve the quality of parameter estimates. The sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method is employed to solve the receding horizon D-optimization for improving convergence and efficiency of the input design process. Numerical and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Summary: This article introduces Fair-Pack, the first fairness-based transaction packing algorithm for permissioned blockchain empowered IIoT systems. Through theoretical analysis, it is found that fairness is positively related to the sum of waiting times of the selected transactions. Fair-Pack shows significant superiority in experiments, being not only time-efficient, but also outperforming existing algorithms in terms of both fairness and average transaction response time.

Summary: The first generation of wireless power transfer (WPT) standard Qi, launched in 2010, aimed to maximize compatibility and attract manufacturers. This compatibility feature led to the growth of a wireless power market for a decade. The authors argue for a paradigm shift from compatibility to optimal performance in terms of energy efficiency and charging time, considering the increasing power of WPT applications. They also discuss several enabling technologies for this paradigm shift.

Summary: In this letter, a method for metal object detection (MOD) is proposed, using detection coils perpendicular to power coils. The theoretical voltage in the detection coils is zero when no metal object is present. However, when a metal object is placed on the Tx pad, it induces an eddy current, resulting in a voltage in the detection coils. This method is able to function well even with misalignments between the Tx and Rx pads, and does not require adjustments for different winding positions. The concept has been successfully validated through experimental results.

Summary: In order to address the issue of insufficient power transmission caused by load changes in a Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system, this paper proposes a bridge rectifier with a parallel inductance-capacitor network. By utilizing the nonlinear impedance transformation characteristics, the variation range of equivalent AC impedance can be suppressed to improve coil coupling efficiency, and the power output capability can be enhanced under light load conditions. Furthermore, the proposed rectifier ensures soft switching within a wide load range without introducing additional imaginary impedance. The network parameters are optimized using an average efficiency algorithm, and the electric performance of the proposed structure is verified through experimental results.

Summary: With the wide deployment of IoT, blockchain systems are crucial for establishing trusted computing environments without relying on centralized servers. This article proposes a distributed and randomized consensus algorithm based on a realistic SINR model to reach k-times consensus among n devices in wireless networks. The algorithm achieves a time complexity of O(k + log n) and has been rigorously analyzed and validated through extensive simulations. The work facilitates the implementation of blockchains in wireless scenarios without reliable and fast transmissions.

Summary: This article presents a methodology for analyzing the effects of intended metallic object on a wireless power transfer system, quantifying how the metallic object could change the magnetic coupling and alter the resonant tank parameters. Recompensation of the resonant tank can improve power transfer capability but not energy efficiency. A new performance-enhancement method based on recompensating the resonant tanks and maximizing the mutual inductance of the transmitter and receiver coils is proposed.

Summary: This article proposes a fast and real-time mutual inductance estimation method for drone in-flight wireless charging systems. The critical challenge for in-flight wireless charging systems is to track variations of mutual inductance caused by continuously changed misalignments between coupling coils, which is rarely explored in previous studies. The proposed rotating-coordinate-based estimation method effectively enhances the rapidity and simplicity of the estimation process, while eliminating wireless communication links. With the features of accuracy, rapidity, and real-time performance, it can be an ideal solution for drone in-flight wireless charging systems.

Summary: This letter proposes a simultaneous wireless power and data transfer (SWPDT) method for wireless power transfer systems. Data and power are transferred via the same coupler. To achieve high transfer power and data transfer rate, a double-side LCC compensation topology with bandpass filtering is adopted to create favorable conditions for data transfer. An inductor fully compensated at the power carrier frequency is used to inject and extract the data carrier, multiplexed with the power carrier. Additionally, the duration time of the data transfer channel's transient responses is regulated based on complex frequency-domain analysis. Finally, a 1.1kW SWPDT experimental prototype with a data transfer rate of 1 Mbps and a data transfer delay of 0.4 μs is built to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

Summary: Enterprises in emerging markets increasingly prioritize social responsibility alongside economic development. However, existing literature lacks research on the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and acquirer returns in cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&As). This study examines 214 cross-border M&As in China from 2010 to 2019 and categorizes CSR into four components. The findings indicate that supplier and consumer responsibility, as well as the social contribution of enterprises, significantly promote acquirer returns in cross-border M&As, while shareholder responsibility and environmental responsibility have negative effects. This conclusion may be specific to the Chinese context of cross-border M&As.

Summary: This paper investigates the problem of overcoming controller vulnerability in nonlinear uncertain switched systems considering actuator saturation. The sufficient condition for nonfragile robust exponential stabilization is derived using the method of minimum dwell time. Switching law and nonfragile state feedback controllers are then designed to achieve robust exponential stabilization. Additionally, the design issue of controllers is transformed into a convex optimization problem with linear matrix inequalities (LMI) constraints, aiming to enlarge the estimation of domain of attraction for the closed-loop system.

Summary: This study reports the use of bacterial cells for the biosynthesis of Au@TiO2 as an efficient catalyst for the degradation of methylene blue. The bio-Au2@TiO2 catalyst showed the highest catalytic activity with a kinetics constant of 0.195 min(-1), and maintained stable activity for up to 10 cycles. The presence of Au nanoparticles on the bio-TiO2 layers decreased the band gap energy of TiO2, leading to the generation of abundant photogeneration hydroxyl radicals and enhanced photocatalytic activity.

Summary: High-entropy alloys/compounds with increased configurational entropy exhibit improved functional properties compared to conventional materials. In this study, the impact of increasing entropy in liquid electrolytes for rechargeable lithium batteries was demonstrated. The introduction of multiple salts in the electrolyte induced a larger diversity in solvation structures, enhancing lithium-ion diffusivity and the formation of stable interphase passivation layers. A low-concentration dimethyl ether electrolyte with four salts showed enhanced cycling stability and rate capability. These findings highlight the potential of high-entropy electrolytes for lithium batteries and beyond.
