Summary: A digital twin is a precise digital replica of a physical object or asset that helps manage, control, or monitor the real object. The current centralized systems for managing digital twins are not easily accessible. This paper proposes using non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to manage ownership of digital twins and provide proof of delivery of their physical assets in a decentralized, secure, traceable, and transparent manner. The solution involves representing digital twins and their sub-twins hierarchically using NFTs and sub-NFTs, and includes system architecture, algorithm implementation, smart contracts, testing, validation, security analysis, and generalization.

Summary: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the application of a digital competency-based human capital competitiveness model in the 5.0 era. The findings suggest that digital competency has a positive influence on HCC, especially in terms of information literacy, security, and digital content. However, collaborative communication and problem-solving were found to be ineffective, and the effect of digital safety on superior performance was not positive. It was also found that digital content only affected talent, performance, and personal service.

Summary: Electrification is crucial for reducing carbon emissions in road transportation. The deployment of electric scooters in cities worldwide has received increasing attention. However, the existing literature lacks an understanding of the climate change mitigation potential across various scooter models. To address this, we comprehensively analyze the performances of 156 scooter models in Taiwan, where scooter density is the highest globally. Our findings show that there is a trade-off between cost and carbon emissions when choosing scooters with different powertrain technologies. Gasoline scooters are cheaper to own, but low-carbon electric scooters can be more affordable due to battery-swapping techniques. Surprisingly, all Phase 7 emissions standard internal combustion engine scooters in Taiwan meet the near-term climate goal for 2030, providing a less costly transition from liquid fuels to electrification. However, achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 requires deep decarbonization of electricity generation and widespread adoption of electric scooters.

Summary: This study reveals that female entrepreneurs operate less productive new ventures as majority owners than their male counterparts, but the gender productivity gap significantly reduces when they operate new ventures with men as equal owners. Gender-equal ownership can facilitate the flow of essential industry knowledge from experienced male co-owners to inexperienced female co-owners, leading to productivity gains. The study emphasizes that female entrepreneurs, especially those with less experience, should consider gender-equal ownership as an attractive option to improve business performance.
