Summary: This study aimed to develop an EORTC QLG questionnaire to comprehensively capture the HRQOL issues relevant to disease-free cancer survivors. Through pretesting and analysis, essential and optional scales were identified, resulting in the QLQ-SURV100 with various scales and items. The availability of this questionnaire will facilitate a standardized assessment of HRQOL for cancer survivors.

Trajectories of Cognitive Symptoms in Sick-Listed Cancer Survivors

Summary: The study examined the impact of cognitive symptoms on work capacity in cancer survivors, finding that cognitive functioning improved within two to four years after the first sick leave. Fatigue was identified as a significant factor influencing the reported trajectory of cognitive functioning.

Assessing measurement invariance in the EORTC QLQ-C30

Summary: The study aimed to investigate measurement invariance in the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire across different subgroups of cancer patients. Results showed the highest level of invariance across groups based on time since diagnosis and life stage, with smaller levels of invariance across groups based on sex, age, and primary tumor site. Changes in item's associated factor means were relatively small and mostly canceled each other out to some extent.

Younger age, lower education level, comorbidities, and psychological distress were associated with worse outcomes.

These findings can help in selecting the most appropriate measure for a specific setting or study purpose, and understanding the possibilities of linking scores across different PRO measures.
