Summary: miR-181a-2-3p promotes GC cell progression by targeting MYLK and enhancing tumor growth. The promoting effect of miR-181a-2-3p on GC cells is reversed when miR-181a-2-3p and MYLK are simultaneously overexpressed.

Summary: This study found that hsa-miR-143-3p expression was significantly downregulated in GC using TCGA data and plasma samples. Target gene prediction analysis revealed that hsa-miR-143-3p is involved in signaling pathways related to GC development. Therefore, hsa-miR-143-3p may serve as a diagnostic biomarker for GC.

Summary: The study revealed that miR-143-3p and miR-495-3p target CDK1 to inhibit the occurrence and development of cervical cancer. Overexpression of miR-143-3p or miR-495-3p can down-regulate CDK1 expression in cervical cancer tissues and cells, inhibit cell proliferation, and promote apoptosis.

Summary: LncRNA SOX2-OT is highly expressed in HCC cells and tissues, with poor prognosis in patients. Inhibiting SOX2-OT decreased malignant behaviors of HCC cells and promoted MSI2 expression by binding to miR-143-3p. Nude mouse tumorigenesis experiments confirmed the role of SOX2-OT in promoting proliferation and invasion of HCC cells.

Summary: The long non-coding RNA UCC acts as a competing endogenous RNA of miR-143-3p and upregulates SOX5 by absorbing miR-143-3p, resulting in proliferation and migration of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells both in vitro and in vivo. UCC enhances carcinogenesis of NSCLC cells via the miR-143-3p/SOX5 axis, which may function as a novel target for NSCLC treatment.

Summary: The study reveals that circPTK2 functions as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer by regulating the miR-196a-3p/AATK axis, leading to the suppression of cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. This suggests that circPTK2 may serve as a novel therapeutic target for gastric cancer.

Summary: This study investigates the expressions and interactions of miR-143-3p and KAT6A in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The results show that high expression of KAT6A is associated with the viability and proliferation of AML cells, while overexpression of miR-143-3p can inhibit the viability and proliferation of AML cells. Furthermore, there is a functional interaction between KAT6A and miR-143-3p. Overall, miR-143-3p and KAT6A play important roles in the viability and proliferation of AML cells.

Summary: miR-769-5p/miR-769-3p acts as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer by targeting IGF1R and through the STAT3-IGF1R-HDAC3 complex. Treatment with the HDAC inhibitor SAHA triggers the expression of miR-769-5p/miR-769-3p, leading to inhibition of proliferation and induction of apoptosis in gastric cancer cells.

Summary: The study found that long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) extracellular leucine rich repeat and fibronectin type III domain containing 1-antisense RNA 1 (ELFN1-AS1) is upregulated in various tumors. However, its role in gastric cancer (GC) is not well understood. The study showed that ELFN1-AS1 promotes GC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and EMT, and inhibits apoptosis by acting as a sponge for miR-211-3p and upregulating TRIM29 expression. Thus, the ELFN1-AS1/miR-211-3p/TRIM29 axis may be a potential target for GC treatment in the future.

Summary: Gastric cancer leads to a large number of deaths worldwide, and despite efforts to treat this cancer, the survival rate of gastric cancer patients remains unsatisfactory. Increasing evidence shows that miR-29c-3p inhibits cancer progression. However, the mechanism of miR-29c-3p in gastric cancer is not fully understood. This study aimed to analyze the underlying mechanism of miR-29c-3p in gastric cancer.

Summary: High expression of APBB2 was detected in gastric adenocarcinoma patients, indicating a potential predictive biomarker for poor prognosis. Silencing APBB2 inhibited the functions of gastric adenocarcinoma cells, including proliferation, cell cycle progression, migration, and invasion. The binding sites between hsa-mir-30a and the 3'-UTR of APBB2 suggest a regulatory role of hsa-mir-30a in APBB2 expression.
