Summary: This study examines the reasons for pursuing endocrinology as a subspecialty among current fellows/trainees in the United States. The majority of respondents decided to pursue endocrinology during residency, and their endocrinology rotation and experiences with clinical mentors were identified as the most influential factors. Limited exposure to endocrinology during medical school highlights the need for improved integration of endocrinology experiences between medical school and residency.

Summary: Insulin is a key hormone in metabolism that regulates blood sugar levels. Its discovery in the early 20th century transformed type 1 diabetes from a fatal condition to a manageable chronic disease. Through collaboration between academia and the pharmaceutical industry, advancements such as the synthesis of human insulin and the development of delivery methods have greatly improved treatment outcomes and quality of life for patients.

Summary: The article investigates the factors influencing Romanian in-service teachers' willingness to participate in a national training program focused on mentoring in education. The study finds that a higher level of education, prior training experiences, and awareness of the role of mentoring in education positively impact teachers' interest in joining the training program. Additionally, teachers' self-assessed training needs and the challenges faced during online/blended teaching in the pandemic period also increase their likelihood of being interested in the training program. However, age is negatively related to the willingness to enroll in the training program.

Summary: This study conducted a literature review to evaluate alternative methods for diabetes device training. The findings showed that virtual visits, including video conferencing and phone calls, were highly satisfactory and preferred by users. Short-term clinical outcomes also demonstrated improved glycemic control. Therefore, alternative training approaches can help reduce barriers to care and alleviate the burden of training.
