Summary: This study examines the mechanism and condition of green transformational leadership (GTL) in improving green innovation (GI) in megaprojects. The results show that GTL has a significant positive impact on green product innovation (GPDI) and green process innovation (GPCI), where green knowledge sharing (GKS) mediates the relationship between GTL and GI. Moreover, innovation climate (IC) plays a positive moderating role in the relationship between GTL and GKS, as well as the relationship between GKS and the two aspects of GI.

It is also found that frugal innovation mediates the link between innovation capability and value creation, and knowledge sharing strengthens this association. This research provides valuable insights and guidance for the sustainable advancement of SMEs in the circular economy.
