Summary: This study evaluated the impact of laparoscopic niche resection on residual myometrial thickness in pregnant women and compared niche size, obstetrical outcomes, etc. between the resection group and the expectant group. The results showed that laparoscopic niche resection increased residual myometrial thickness during subsequent pregnancies and reduced the risk of uterine dehiscence.

Summary: This study introduces a simple adjunct treatment called trophoblastic microcirculation occlusion (TMO) for patients with endogenous cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP). TMO treatment can convert high-risk electric vacuum aspiration into a routine surgical procedure and reduce complications associated with CSP surgery.

Summary: The study identified multiple parity, prior cesarean section, hysteroscopic therapy, and dilation and curettage after the last cesarean section as risk factors for type II/III cesarean scar pregnancy. Hysteroscopic therapy was found to be a safe and effective surgical approach with high success rates and favorable reproductive outcomes.

Summary: CSP is defined as the localization of the gestational sac in the cicatrix tissue created in the front wall of the uterus after a previous cesarean section. With the worldwide prevalence of CSP increasing rapidly, there is currently a lack of general recommendations for the prophylaxis and treatment of these abnormalities. Our study presents the latest knowledge and a holistic approach to the biology, histology, imaging, and management of post-CS scars based on clinical cases treated in Poland.

Summary: Recurrent Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is more common than previously assumed, with no clear causal relationship or association found between the type of treatment of the previous CSP and recurrence. Patients who become pregnant after CSP treatment should be encouraged to have an early first-trimester transvaginal scan to determine the location of the gestation.

Summary: This study investigates the application value of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in ultrasound-guided lauromacrogol injections for patients with cesarean scar pregnancies. The results show that post-injection contrast-enhanced ultrasonography can predict the therapeutic effect and guide clinical management. Patients were divided into two groups based on intraoperative blood loss and duration of postoperative vaginal bleeding, with 19 cases in the significantly effective group and 12 cases in the effective group.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of hysteroscopic surgery for endogenous cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) and the value of prophylactic ultrasound-guided local injection of lauromacrogol. The results showed that direct hysteroscopic surgery is effective and safe for patients with endogenous CSP. However, prophylactic lauromacrogol injection increases the incidence of complications and costs.

Summary: The study explored the reproductive outcomes of women with a history of cesarean scar pregnancy and analyzed the influence of various treatments on subsequent pregnancy outcomes. The results showed that women with a history of CSP still have a high pregnancy rate, but the risk of recurrent CSP and spontaneous miscarriage is increased. The effect of different treatments on subsequent pregnancy outcomes needs further assessment.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of Cesarean section (CS) scar niche during pregnancy using transvaginal ultrasound imaging. The study found that scar was visible in nearly 78% of women, with over 50% having a CS scar niche. Factors such as previous uterine curettage were associated with an increased risk for uterine niche formation in a subsequent pregnancy.

Summary: This study investigated the surgical treatment approaches for patients with Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) and the effects on subsequent pregnancy. The results showed significant differences in clinical characteristics among different types of CSP. Hysteroscopic lesion excision was commonly used, and uterine artery embolization was often performed as an adjuvant treatment. The number of previous cesarean deliveries was found to be a risk factor for recurrent CSP in subsequent pregnancies.

Summary: The study demonstrates the effectiveness and safety of the defined manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) technique for treatment of type 2 cesarean scar pregnancies (CSPs). The MVA procedure is easily applicable and effective with high success rates and low complication rates, making it a potential first-line treatment option for appropriately selected patients.

Summary: This study retrospectively observed 31 patients with cesarean scar pregnancy and evaluated the treatment outcomes and related factors using ultrasound imaging features. The results showed that the growth direction of the gestational sac, residual myometrial thickness, and chorionic parenchyma characteristics may be high-risk factors for major bleeding caused by curettage in cesarean scar pregnancy.

Summary: This study validated the use of modified benign simple descriptors (BDs) to exclude malignancy in most women with adnexal masses, and proposed a two-step strategy using the ADNEX model to estimate the risk of malignancy. The modified BDs were applicable to 37% of tumors, 99.3% of which were benign. The two-step strategy showed an AUC of 0.94.

Summary: European patients seek more patient-centred healthcare by crossing borders. This study validated the ENDOCARE questionnaire in nine different languages and demonstrated its benchmark potential. Significant between-country variance in case-mix-adjusted overall and dimensional patient-centredness scores explained 3-9% of the total variance in patient-centredness across 10 European countries. Compared to the least patient-centred country, endometriosis care in Denmark, Italy, and Belgium was more patient-centred.

Summary: The uterine junctional zone is an area in the myometrium that aids in peristalsis and transport of spermatozoa and blastocysts. Alterations in its appearance on imaging are associated with adenomyosis, but the lack of standardization and ill-defined boundaries hinder its diagnosis. This review investigates the definition of the junctional zone and how imaging findings can be linked to histological findings in diagnosing adenomyosis.

Summary: The increasing rate of caesarean sections has led to an increase in women with uterine niche. The exact cause of niche development is still unknown, but is likely to be multifactorial. This study provides an overview of the available literature on histopathological features, risk factors, and preventive strategies for niche development to gain a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms.

Summary: This qualitative study evaluated how experts define and diagnose cesarean scar disorder. Through a modified Delphi procedure, consensus was achieved among 31 international gynecologists on the definition, symptoms, conditions to exclude, and diagnostic criteria of this disorder. Using a standardized definition for the constellation of symptoms resulting from a symptomatic uterine cesarean scar will have important implications for patient care and future niche-related research.

Summary: Assessing the malignancy risk of ovarian tumors is crucial for selecting appropriate management. In this study, six algorithms were compared to estimate the probabilities of different types of ovarian tumors. The models developed showed good performance, but individual probability estimates varied substantially.
