Summary: The most ambitious visions of metaverse technology promise to create virtual places that offer the same possibilities as the real world. However, studies have shown a low level of willingness to migrate to the metaverse due to perceived metaverse-related threat. Greater attachment to virtual places is associated with both an increased willingness to migrate and a lower level of perceived threat.

Summary: The present study redefines the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) through a mixed-method investigation to examine dating-partner behavior in the metaverse using innovative variables. It also investigates the moderating role of realistic threat and perceived trust in the proposed model. The research consists of two parts: the first collects dating app users' responses from online reviews on social media sites, while the second validates the model through confirmatory analysis using identified constructs. Perceived trust moderates the association between perceived attitude and dating intention in the metaverse, whereas realistic threat does not. The study highlights the importance of various factors in shaping perceived attitude, except for perceived accuracy of information, and emphasizes the need to address privacy and security concerns to gain users' trust.

Summary: This paper investigates the economic dynamics of the metaverse through the analysis of on-chain data from a blockchain game. The New Keynesian Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) model is implemented to explore the token inflation in the metaverse economy. By incorporating in-game cryptocurrency, the standard DSGE models are extended to capture the demand and supply of NFT assets. The paper compares the responses to tokenomic shocks that affect the metaverse economy. It is the first study to utilize on-chain token holding data and DSGE models to examine the metaverse economy.

Summary: Interest in Japan's 'metaverse' emerged in response to Facebook's rebranding as Meta. While Meta focuses on blending virtual spaces with existing offices, Japanese approaches prioritize creating alternate worlds to substitute for reality. This essay examines trade paperbacks released in Japan after Facebook's rebranding to explore the theme of physical and social withdrawal in these metaverse appeals. It critically examines the conservative 'otaku' politics behind outsourcing everyday social interaction to American tech platforms for profit.

Summary: The Metaverse is not a radical departure, but rather an incremental evolution influenced by previous virtual worlds such as Second Life. By studying these earlier platforms, a framework has been proposed to differentiate the Metaverse from previous virtual worlds based on user experience. Comparing the Metaverse to Second Life demonstrates the value of this framework and deepens the current discourse on virtual worlds. The framework also sheds light on the potential impact of the Metaverse and helps identify lessons learned for its further development.
