Summary: This study revealed that circ-ERBB2 is overexpressed in TNBC, with high expression levels associated with poor prognosis. Functional experiments demonstrated that knockdown of circ-ERBB2 inhibited TNBC growth and affected proliferation and migration of TNBC cells through the miR-136-5p/PDK4 pathway.

Summary: In this study, researchers found that upregulation of circ-ERBB2 promoted the malignancy of colorectal cancer (CRC) cells and reduced their resistance to 5-FU. They identified miR-181a-5p as the target of circ-ERBB2 and verified phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) as miR-181a-5p's downstream target. Circ-ERBB2 activated the Akt pathway and inhibited cell apoptosis by modulating miR-181a-5p/PTEN. The findings suggest that circ-ERBB2 could serve as a valuable biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment of CRC.

Summary: The study identified hsa_circ_0110389 as a novel upregulated circRNA in malignant-transformed gastric cancer cells, and found that it promotes gastric cancer progression via the miR-127-5p/miR-136-5p-SORT1 pathway. This circRNA may serve as a diagnostic/prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for gastric cancer.

Summary: This study explores the role of circ-CDK14 in the progression of osteosarcoma. The results show that silencing circ-CDK14 can inhibit proliferation, migration, and invasion of osteosarcoma cells and promote apoptosis. In addition, circ-CDK14 regulates the progression of osteosarcoma cells by targeting the miR-198/E2F2 axis.

Summary: This study reveals that circ-TRIO plays a crucial role in TNBC and is associated with the recurrence and prognosis of TNBC patients. The findings demonstrate that knockdown of circ-TRIO inhibits the proliferation, migration, and invasion of TNBC cells, while overexpression of circ-TRIO has the opposite effects. Mechanistically, circ-TRIO interacts with miR-432-5p to regulate the expression of CCDC58.

Summary: The expression of miR-146a-5p is associated with the efficacy and survival of HER2-positive breast cancer patients treated with trastuzumab. Increased expression of miR-146a-5p leads to resistance to trastuzumab and enhances cell migration and angiogenesis, promoting cell cycle progression. Furthermore, exosomes from trastuzumab-resistant cells, which contain high levels of miR-146a-5p expression, can transfer resistance properties to other cells.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of photobiomodulation (PBM) on cardiac physiological activity. The results show that noninvasive irradiation using LED-Red at a wavelength of 630 nm promotes cardiomyocyte proliferation and division, myocardial revascularization, and myocardial regeneration. The mechanism involves the inhibition of miRNA-miR-136-5p expression and targeting of Ino80. These findings suggest a potential strategy for the treatment of ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICD).

Summary: In this study, the researchers investigated the role of TFAP2C in cell autophagy during myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury. They found that TFAP2C inhibited autophagy and improved cell injury caused by MI/R by mediating the miR-23a-5p/SFRP5/Wnt5a axis. These findings suggest that TFAP2C could be a potential therapeutic target for treating MI/R injury.

Summary: In this study, the protein expression profiles in injured sciatic nerves were analyzed using proteomics. It was found that chitosan oligosaccharides (COS) up-regulate a group of proteins related to exosome packaging and transport, indicating the involvement of exosomes in COS-induced peripheral nerve regeneration. Exosomes derived from COS-treated fibroblasts promote axon extension and regeneration, and the key factor in this process is TFAP2C.

Summary: Circular RNA fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 3B (circ-FNDC3B) was found to be significantly upregulated in ESCC tissues and cells. The downregulation of circ-FNDC3B inhibited the proliferation and invasion ability of ESCC cells, while promoting apoptosis. The function of circ-FNDC3B was achieved by sponging miR-136-5p or miR-370-3p.
