Summary: The Japanese diagnostic criteria for autoimmune gastritis (AIG) were established by the Study Group, including endoscopic or histological findings and positive gastric autoantibodies. Early-stage AIG diagnosis only requires histological confirmation and gastric autoantibody positivity. The newly proposed criteria allow for more accurate and early diagnosis of AIG, helping to stratify patients into high-risk groups and establish a surveillance system, but issues regarding endoscopic findings and insurance coverage need attention.

Summary: This study summarizes the histomorphology of well-differentiated gastric neuroendocrine tumors (gNETs) in patients with autoimmune metaplastic atrophic gastritis (AMAG). It found that most type 1 ECL-cell gNETs were low-grade and multifocal, but a significant proportion displayed unconventional morphologies. Unconventional gNETs grew within the mucosa and the background mucosa of patients with gNETs had already progressed to endstage metaplasia.

Summary: The incidence and prevalence of type I gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms (gNENs) in patients with autoimmune gastritis (AIG) have been increasing. Gastrin, a potential marker for early diagnosis, has low diagnostic accuracy, highlighting the need for effective strategies for early detection and treatment.

Summary: This study investigated the clinical characteristics and long-term prognosis of T1-GNETs and found that they exhibited indolent behavior and favorable long-term prognoses. Lymphovascular invasion (LVI) may be useful in indicating the need for additional treatments.

Summary: This article reports a rare case of a Chinese patient who presented with gastric neuroendocrine tumors (G-NET) combined with pernicious anemia and subacute combined degeneration, which are secondary to chronic autoimmune gastritis. This case also highlights the importance of routine gastroscopy in patients with Vitamin B-12 deficiency.

Summary: Most gastric cancers are associated with chronic gastritis, which can be categorized into two types: Helicobacter pylori-induced gastritis and autoimmune gastritis (AIG). This study investigated the clinicopathological features of gastric cancer with AIG and found molecular differences in mucin expression, immune cell infiltration, and the gastric microbiota between AIG-related gastric cancer and non-AIG gastric cancer. These differences may contribute to the pathogenesis of gastric cancers and influence the response to immunotherapy.

Summary: This report describes a patient with aggressive high-grade gastric neuroendocrine tumour, associated with autoimmune gastritis, showing rapid disease progression and poor prognosis. Targeted next-generation sequencing identified pathogenic gene variants contributing to tumor differentiation and metastasis. Liver metastasis was detected during follow-up, and the patient succumbed to disease progression after 6 years.

Summary: Gastric cancer is a leading cause of mortality worldwide, with risks associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. Both autoimmune gastritis and infection-induced gastritis can lead to high-risk metaplastic lesions, increasing the likelihood of gastric adenocarcinoma development.

Summary: This study investigated the incidence of gastric polyps in patients with chronic atrophic autoimmune gastritis (CAAG). The results showed a high incidence of gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms (gNENs) and exocrine lesions in CAAG patients. Gastrin may play a trophic role on the gastric mucosa. Further research is needed to validate its predictive role in increased polyp risk in CAAG.

Summary: Gastric neuroendocrine neoplasms are rare tumors with variable differentiation and malignant potential. They can be categorized into three subtypes, each requiring different diagnostic and management approaches. Understanding the pathophysiology and histologic classifications is crucial for effective imaging, therapy, and prognosis assessment.

Summary: This study reviewed 22 articles on patients who developed APS-2 after ICI treatment, including a total of 23 patients, the majority of whom were male patients receiving PD-1 therapy. These patients typically developed symptoms of endocrine organ involvement after 8.5 weeks, with 65.2% testing positive for related autoantibodies, where glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody played a key role in the onset of diabetes in some patients.

Summary: The association between melanosis coli and colorectal neoplasms remains unclear, but the detection rates of hyperplastic polyps and adenomas are significantly higher in MC patients compared to the control group. However, MC patients do not show an elevated risk of colorectal cancer.
