Summary: The industrial application of digital technologies in manufacturing can improve process efficiency and facilitate the integration of production, logistics, and maintenance functions. However, the increasing interconnectedness of manufacturing information leads to more complex systems. System architecture provides a structured design and development framework for such information systems. This study reviews and classifies reference architectures used to support digital systems in manufacturing, proposing criteria for reference architectures, providing an overview of different perspectives, and offering a guideline for choosing a reference architecture.

However, there is a lack of a comprehensive framework for studying the high-level planning of IIP implementation and few studies on the detailed path and steps of IIP implementation in specific industries. The research aims to study the general model, reference architecture, service evaluation index system, implementation path and application verification for IIP to provide guidance for government and industry in planning, designing, implementing and promoting IIP.

Summary: Several technological blocks are being developed to provide solutions for implementing industrial IoT, utilizing the resources offered by the Cloud. However, challenges such as bandwidth limitations, variability in Internet service, latency, lack of data filtering, and security issues are hindering its progress. The contributions from academia, companies, and consortiums are helping to overcome these challenges and accelerate the paradigm shift towards implementing IoT technologies in production plants. This systematic literature review aims to analyze the successes and weaknesses of hierarchical and flat peer-to-peer architectures in manufacturing IIoT, inspiring further research in areas such as latency, security, computing methodologies, and connectivity.
