Summary: This study investigated the vascular pattern of the common zones of non-surgical filler-based rhinoplasty (NSR) using Doppler ultrasound. The results showed that the common method of NSR was relatively safe in the radix but carried an increased risk of vascular events in the nasal tip.

Summary: Two patients presented with subcutaneous palpable masses in the lower eyelid area after hyaluronic acid filler injection. Surgical excision revealed foreign-body granulomatous reaction, consistent with the formation of dermal filler-related granulomas years after injection. Patients should be informed about the possibility of mass formation and clinicians should be vigilant for delayed hypersensitivity reactions.

Summary: Adverse effects from dermal fillers are rare, but we report a case of filler-induced xanthelasma in a 43-year-old woman. The xanthelasma was successfully treated with Er:YAG laser, showing notable improvement after six months. This case suggests that Er:YAG ablation may be an effective and safe treatment for filler-induced xanthelasma.

Summary: Although the mode of action of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injections remains unclear, it is associated with various non-vascular inflammatory complications. Impurities in hyaluronic acid fillers may lead to an immune response. This study aimed to identify any impurities in hyaluronic acid fillers available on the market, and found contaminant particles such as silicon and aluminum isotopes.

Summary: The study aimed to quantitatively assess the effects of hyaluronic acid on the healing process of lateral osteotomy in rabbits. Results showed that hyaluronic acid-based mesh significantly increased collagen density and capillary development compared to the control group. Further investigation is needed to explore the potential of hyaluronic acid in bone healing processes.
