Summary: This randomized clinical trial found that silver diamine fluoride with fluoride varnish was as effective as glass ionomer sealants with fluoride varnish in the prevention and arrest of dental caries. The results of this study may support the use of silver diamine fluoride as a preventive and treatment agent in school-based oral health programs.

Summary: The DMAEM-modified sealants showed promising long-term antibacterial activities against oral microbial-aging and long-term microecosystem-regulating capabilities, resulting in a significant reduction in microleakage and potential prevention of dental caries without affecting the depth-of-cure values and cytotoxicity of the sealants.

Summary: This study aimed to identify the expected population-level costs and health impacts of implementing universal and indicated school-based socio-emotional learning (SEL) programs in different country contexts. The findings suggest that universal SEL programs require a low level of investment but produce significantly greater health benefits at a population level, while indicated SEL programs may be justified as a means of reducing population inequalities.

Summary: This study assessed the cost-effectiveness of near-infrared-light-transillumination (NILT) for school-based caries screening and found that NILT may provide limited effectiveness gains and cost savings in the modelled populations. However, in countries other than Germany, NILT may have higher cost-effectiveness.

Summary: Dental imaging is crucial in clinical dental practice. A cost-effective 3D imaging technique, close-range photogrammetry-based dental imaging (CPDI), was developed to bridge the gap between conventional dental photography and high-precision 3D dental scanning. Evaluation on dental models and in vivo teeth showed that CPDI produced accurate 3D models with clinical relevance.

Summary: The study proposes a method to prepare autologous bio-based fibrin glue for ophthalmic surgery. The adhesive strength of FG increased with fibrinogen concentration, and FG2 and FG3 showed successful results in conjunctival autografts with equivalent properties compared to commercial FG and reduced inflammation.

Summary: The China Children's Oral Disease Comprehensive Intervention Project provides free oral health examinations, pit and fissure sealants (PFS) application, and oral health education for children aged seven to nine years. The study found that expanding the coverage of PFS application is a more cost-effective strategy for caries prevention in China.

Summary: This systematic review aimed to analyze if using polywave LEDs to photoactivate resin-based materials containing alternative photo-initiators provide better physicochemical properties than monowave LEDs. The results showed that polywave LEDs improved the degree of conversion and microhardness of resin composites, but had no influence on the flexural strength.

Summary: This study demonstrates the suitability of additively manufactured components with conductive tape metalization for two different microwave experiments. The focus is on dielectric measurements and prototyping of low power 2.45 GHz elliptical accelerator cavities. The experiments employed rectangular and elliptic 3D-printed cavities coated with aluminum-type tape to compare with previous research and validate the accuracy of the results. The proposed approach reduces costs and provides high accuracy for investigated applications.

Summary: This study assessed the implementation of school-based dental sealant programs (SBDSPs) and identified the factors that impact their success at the population level. The study found that school and client recruitment, client attendance, and workforce capacity are crucial for the success of SBDSPs.

Summary: This study found that smaller schools, special education schools, higher proportion of Indigenous students, lower attendance rates, remote locations, and lower socioeconomic areas are the factors most strongly associated with lower HPV vaccination initiation. Initiatives to support these schools may contribute most to reducing the variation in HPV vaccination uptake at a school-level.

Summary: The study synthesized economic evidence for interventions aimed at improving active travel to schools in high-income countries. Cost and benefit estimates varied widely, but overall, interventions that enhance infrastructure and safety for active travel generate societal economic benefits that exceed the societal cost.
