Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the distribution data of oocyte retrieval rate (ORR) in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) undergoing in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) and explore the risk factors for low ORR. The results showed that low estradiol levels/follicles (≥12 mm), progesterone levels, and the use of progestin-primed protocol were significant risk factors for low ORR.

Summary: This study compared the impact of in vitro maturation (IVM) treatment on subsequent in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The results showed that even if the first IVM attempt failed, comparable cumulative live birth rates were observed in the subsequent IVF cycle. IVM treatment does not adversely affect the subsequent IVF cycle.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between antimullerian hormone (AMH) and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) phenotypes, and whether AMH is associated with pregnancy outcomes in infertile women undergoing their first in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. The results showed that AMH is associated with PCOS severity and ovarian stimulation, but after controlling for other confounders, AMH is not associated with clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate in women undergoing IVF.

Summary: Female infertility is mainly caused by ovulation disorders, with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) being the most prevalent. PCOS is associated with abnormal function of estrogen and estrogen receptors (ERs), affecting cellular activities. Selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) like tamoxifen and clomiphene have shown clinical applications for subfertility with PCOS, but further understanding of the role of ER in PCOS is needed.

Summary: Catecholamines are crucial neurotransmitters in the central nervous system and play key roles in neurological disorders. Optical and electrochemical biosensors have been widely adopted for the real-time monitoring of catecholamine neurotransmitters and their development has been greatly accelerated in the last decade. This review provides a comprehensive overview on the recent advances and main challenges in catecholamines biosensors, with emphasis on electrochemical biosensors and the unique characteristics brought by nanotechnology. It also summarizes the therapeutic use of nanomaterials for catecholamine analysis and future development trends based on specific biosensors' performance metrics.

Summary: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine and metabolic disorder in premenopausal women, often accompanied by obesity and insulin resistance. Prolactin, traditionally associated with lactation and reproduction, has emerging roles in metabolic homeostasis. However, research on the relationship between PCOS, prolactin levels, and metabolism is limited and inconsistent.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the histopathological patterns of placentas in pregnant women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who underwent in-vitro fertilization (IVF). The findings showed that the placentas of PCOS women were more likely to have circumvallate placentas and hypercoiled umbilical cords.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the effect of endometrial compaction on the live birth rate in frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles and investigate the associated parameters. The results showed that in FET cycles with artificial endometrial preparation, cycles with endometrial compaction had a significantly higher live birth rate. An endometrial thickness of 9.25mm at the end of the oestrogen phase was predictive of endometrial compaction.

Summary: The research found that previous abdominal surgery does not negatively impact the outcomes of total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH). It also showed that laparoscopic surgery is more beneficial for obese patients in terms of shorter hospital stays when compared to open surgery. Additionally, TLH may be associated with lower major complication rates.

Summary: Following surgery for tubo-ovarian abscess, serum inflammatory markers increase in the early post-operative period and then decline with time. Normalization of white blood cell count is faster compared to C-reactive protein. Summary: This study compared the feasibility, effectiveness, and safety of transabdominal ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval (TUGOR) using a vaginal probe and traditional vaginal approach in virgin patients undergoing oocyte cryopreservation. The results showed no statistical differences between the two groups in terms of follicle count, oocyte collection, cryopreserved MII oocytes, procedure duration, stimulation duration, gonadotropin consumption, mature oocyte ratio, and follicle-oocyte index. Two cases of superficial epigastric artery injury occurred in the TUGOR group but resolved spontaneously within a few days.
