Summary: This study investigated the impact of wearing compression garments on lymphedema-specific health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in women with mild breast cancer-related arm lymphedema (BCRAL). The findings showed that wearing compression garments had a negative impact on HRQOL in the practical domain compared to not wearing compression garments.

Summary: The study found no significant differences between two interventions in preventing lymphedema or improving HRQOL. However, African American patients reported more severe lymphedema symptoms but better emotional functioning compared to patients of other races or ethnicities. Factors like younger age, performance status, number of positive lymph nodes, education level, chemotherapy, and type of node dissection were associated with lower HRQOL during the intervention.

Summary: The study found that the quality of life of breast cancer survivors improved in the first 5 years post-diagnosis, then started to deteriorate, but gradually recovered over time. After 10 years, their quality of life was comparable to women without breast cancer. Survivors of different ages may experience differences in health-related quality of life over time.

Summary: The study aimed to assess changes in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in breast cancer patients over a 10-year period after radiotherapy, compare HRQoL between long-term survivors and unaffected women, and identify factors influencing HRQoL in survivors. The study followed 292 breast cancer patients for a median of 11.4 years and evaluated HRQoL using the EORTC QLQ-C30. The results showed that HRQoL declined during radiotherapy, improved after 6 weeks, and returned to baseline at the 10-year follow-up. There were no significant differences in long-term HRQoL between survivors and controls, but certain domains such as emotional burden, sleep problems, and fatigue were more affected in younger survivors. Factors such as overweight, living with others, and comorbidities were associated with HRQoL.

Summary: This study examined the effects of selfcare and selected factors on the quality of life in women with breast cancer-related lymphedema. Data from 101 women were analyzed, and the results showed that selfcare, time elapsed after breast cancer diagnosis, and time elapsed after lymphedema diagnosis significantly impacted quality of life. Education, support, and regular evaluation of patients' quality of life should be provided.

Summary: The study found that there is a certain consistency in parental and child perceptions of HRQOL in pediatric liver transplant recipients, but it is related to age and ethnicity. When children have comorbidities related to mental and neurocognitive development, there may be differences in how parents and children perceive HRQOL.

Summary: The study aimed to compare the effects of three exercise programs on lymphedema, pain, and quality of life in breast cancer patients, as well as explore the impact of intensive follow-up on the outcomes. The results showed that JME + PRE had the best effect on improving quality of life and preventing lymphedema, while JME + AE had the best effect in relieving pain. Furthermore, long-term and planned monitoring and follow-up were also found to be important.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the factors that affect psychological function following bariatric surgery. The results showed that patients with lower expectations of weight loss, higher educational level, no history of psychiatric illness, and employment before surgery had higher psychological function scores. Additionally, more weight loss after 1 to 2 years post-surgery was associated with higher psychological function scores.

Summary: This scoping review aimed to provide an overview of initiatives, organisational components, and stakeholders' perspectives on pressure ulcer (PU) prevention in transitional care. Fifteen studies of various types were included, indicating that continuous tailored education and information, as well as follow-up services, are crucial for preventing PUs and rehabilitating patients with spinal cord injuries (SCI). However, there is a discrepancy between international recommendations, perceived needs, and the delivery of healthcare services, resulting in lower quality of life and higher risk of PUs for individuals with SCI.

Summary: This study investigated the diagnostic accuracy of up-front 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and MRI for detecting cervical lymph node metastases in patients with T1-T2 oral squamous cell carcinoma. The results showed that PET/CT had higher sensitivity but lower specificity compared to neck MRI, and the overall accuracy of both imaging modalities was comparable. Therefore, a combination of PET/CT and MRI should be used for diagnosing cervical lymph node metastases in T1-T2 oral cavity cancer.
