Summary: The study found that pathways associated with neutrophil-mediated immune response and antioxidant defense mechanism were significantly increased in pregnant women with gingivitis. However, the abundance of salivary cystatins and antimicrobial proteins decreased in both pregnant women with and without gingivitis. This may predispose healthy pregnant women to pregnancy gingivitis and cause persistence of inflammation in pregnant women with gingivitis.

Summary: This study aims to explore the differentially expressed protein (DEP) landscape of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and normal maternal placentas. Through proteomics screening and bioinformatics analysis, a total of 68 DEPs were identified in the GDM placenta. These DEPs are involved in various biological processes and may play a crucial role in the occurrence and development of GDM. This study provides new insights into the mechanism of GDM and the discovery of potential biomarkers.

Summary: Identifying differentially expressed circular RNAs (circRNAs) is crucial for understanding the molecular basis of phenotypic variation. Multiple methods have been developed to detect circRNAs, and combining these tools is a common approach to improve detection rate and robustness. However, integrating circRNA expression estimates into downstream analysis remains unclear. This study presents a novel solution that simultaneously tests circRNA differential expression using quantifications from multiple algorithms.

Summary: In this study, the effects of TDCIPP on immune cells were investigated using iTRAQ-based proteomic techniques. A total of 180 differentially expressed proteins were identified, with some found to be involved in pathways related to apoptosis, DNA damage, cell cycle arrest, immune-toxicity, and signaling pathways. The study also suggested that the collapse of MMP may play a role in TDCIPP induced apoptosis.
