Summary: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a type of endogenous regulatory RNAs that play important roles in cellular responses to influenza A virus (IAV) infection, promoting viral replication. Specifically, circ_0050463 acts as a microRNA-33b-5p sponge to inhibit miR-33b-5p activity, leading to increased EEF1A1 expression and facilitating IAV replication.

Summary: Mounting evidence suggests that circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in the development and progression of cancers. In this study, researchers identified a specific circRNA, circXPO1, that was significantly upregulated in glioblastomas (GBM). Functional studies demonstrated that circXPO1 promoted GBM cell proliferation, migration, and tumor formation. Further investigation revealed that circXPO1 directly bound to miR-7-5p, which negatively regulated the RAF1 gene expression. These findings suggest that circXPO1 may be a potential therapeutic target for GBM treatment.

Summary: circRNAs are involved in the pathogenesis of various cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In HCC, BIRC5 and miR-497-5p play critical roles in tumor progression, with miR-497-5p inhibiting cell proliferation and invasiveness by targeting BIRC5, while circANKRD52 acts as a sponge for miR-497-5p, leading to upregulation of BIRC5 expression in HCC cells.

Summary: Our study revealed that circTMEM87A is upregulated in GC tissues and cell lines, and its high expression is associated with poor prognosis in GC patients. CircTMEM87A functions as an oncogene by sponging miR-142-5p to regulate ULK1 expression and promote GC progression, indicating its potential as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target in GC.
