The study reports the genome of the bean bug, Riptortus pedestris, revealing its XO sex chromosome system with the shortest chromosome being the X chromosome. A total of 19,026 protein-coding genes were predicted, with 18,745 genes validated as being expressed. Temporospatial expression analysis showed a large number of genes mainly expressed in gonads and egg periods.
The bean bug (Riptortus pedestris) causes great economic losses of soybeans by piercing and sucking pods and seeds. Although R. pedestris has become the focus of numerous studies associated with insect-microbe interactions, plant-insect interactions, and pesticide resistance, a lack of genomic resources has limited deeper insights. Here, we report the first R. pedestris genome at the chromosomal level using PacBio, Illumina, and Hi-C technologies. The assembled genome was 1.080 Gb in size with a contig N50 of 2.882 Mb. More than 96.3% of the total genome bases were successfully anchored to six unique chromosomes. Genome resequencing of male and female individuals and chromosomic staining demonstrated that the sex chromosome system of R. pedestris is XO, and the shortest chromosome is the X chromosome. In total, 19,026 protein-coding genes were predicted, 18,745 of which were validated as being expressed. Temporospatial expression of R. pedestris genes in six tissues and 37 development stages revealed 4,657 and 7,793 genes mainly expressed in gonads and egg periods, respectively. Evolutionary analysis demonstrated that R. pedestris and Oncopeltus fasciatus formed a sister group and split similar to 80 million years ago (Mya). Additionally, a 5.04 Mb complete genome of symbiotic Serratia marcescens Rip1 was assembled, and the virulence factors that account for successful colonization in the host midgut were identified. The high-quality R. pedestris genome provides a valuable resource for further research, as well as for the pest management of bug pests.

Hybrid-triggered scheme asynchronous control for hidden Markov jump systems with partially unknown probabilities and cyber attacks

Yaxiao Guo, Junmin Li

Summary: This paper focuses on the application of hybrid-triggered scheme H infinity asynchronous control in networked Markov jump systems with probabilistic cyber attacks. By introducing the hidden Markov model to describe the asynchronous phenomenon and using Lyapunov stability theory and matrix inequality technique, some conditions are developed to ensure system stability and performance. In addition, the desired controller gains are obtained through singular value decomposition.

Prescribed-time stabilisation for uncertain reaction-diffusion equations with Neumann boundary control

Chengzhou Wei, Junmin Li, Chao He

Summary: In this study, we investigate the Neumann boundary feedback stabilization for reaction-diffusion equations with matched boundary uncertainties. We propose a prescribed-time boundary control law by estimating the uncertainties within the prescribed time and utilizing backstepping transformation with a time-varying kernel. The Neumann boundary control is proven to be uniformly bounded.

Adaptive control for the nonlinear event-triggered networked control system: a decoupling method

Chao He, Sanyang Liu, Junmin Li, Jiaxian Wang

Summary: This paper addresses the adaptive control for a kind of nonlinear system over the event-driven sensors-controller communication network. Two kinds of adaptive control strategies are proposed to overcome the limitations of the existing strategy. The decoupling structure of event-triggered mechanism and adaptive estimators saves communication cost and ensures the asymptotical stability of the system.

Zhongyan Wei, Wenbin Guo, Shanshan Jiang, Dankan Yan, Yan Shi, Bin Wu, Xiangqi Xin, Li Chen, Yupeng Cai, Hehong Zhang, Yanjun Li, Haijian Huang, Junmin Li, Fei Yan, Chuanxi Zhang, Wensheng Hou, Jianping Chen, Zongtao Sun

Summary: Direct feeding by Riptortus pedestris is the primary cause of soybean staygreen syndrome, occurring at the early pod stage. Various signal transduction pathways, including photoperiod, hormone, defense response, and photosynthesis, respond to R. pedestris infestation in soybean. Overexpression of floral inducer GmFT2a attenuates staygreen symptoms by mediating soybean defense response and photosynthesis.

Boundary Mittag-Leffler stabilization of a class of time fractional-order nonlinear reaction-diffusion systems

Ailiang Zhao, Junmin Li, Yanfang Lei, Huacheng Zhou

Summary: This paper considers the boundary control design of time fractional-order nonlinear reaction-diffusion systems (FNRDSs) in three cases: domain-averaged measurement, collocated boundary point measurement, and anti-collocated boundary point measurement. Boundary controllers are directly designed based on the measurements for domain-averaged measurement and collocated boundary point measurement. For anti-collocated boundary point measurement, an observer is constructed first to overcome the difficulty of using the measurement directly, and then an observer-based boundary controller is designed. Sufficient conditions for the Mittag-Leffler (M-L) stability of the closed-loop system are provided in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical simulation results are provided to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methods.
