Summary: The efficacy of advanced imaging methods, superb microvascular imaging (SMI) and shear wave elastography (SWE), in predicting molecular subtypes of invasive breast carcinomas was investigated. A total of 210 biopsy-proven breast carcinomas were analyzed using ultrasound imaging with SMI and SWE. Results showed that the average vascular index (VI) and mean elasticity (Emean) values were higher in non-luminal subtypes compared to non-gamma subtypes. The microvascular categorization model was able to differentiate molecular subtypes and showed different vascular patterns for different subtypes.

Summary: This study explored the potential role of shear wave elastography (SWE) and superb microvascular imaging (SMI) in assessing the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer. The study found that these advanced ultrasound techniques can identify tumor characteristics associated with the pathological response to NAC, and may be useful for early evaluation of treatment effectiveness.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of using shear wave elastography (SWE) and superb microvascular imaging (SMI) as innovative methods in diagnosing piriformis syndrome. The results showed significantly higher stiffness in the pathological side of the piriformis muscle, indicating that using innovative methods can help in the correct diagnosis of piriformis syndrome.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the role of superb microvascular imaging (SMI) and shear wave elastography (SWE) in predicting malignancy and invasiveness of isolated microcalcifications (MC) visualized by ultrasonography (US). The results showed that adding SMI and SWE to the sonographic evaluation can improve the accuracy of US-guided biopsy, help target the invasive part of the lesion, and avoid underestimation of core biopsy.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the diagnostic performance of superb microvascular imaging (SMI) and shear wave elastography in evaluating breast lesions. Stiffness was found to be the best parameter for distinguishing malignant from benign masses, although both SMI and shear wave elastography provided valuable quantitative data for differentiation.

Summary: The study compared the effectiveness of superb microvascular imaging (SMI) and shear wave elastography (SWE) in determining liver fibrosis noninvasively. SMI showed better efficacy than SWE in evaluating liver fibrosis, and had potential in staging liver fibrosis and estimating liver necroinflammation.

Summary: This study developed a nomogram based on quantitative ultrasound parameters to predict breast cancer. A total of 313 breast tumors with pathological results were included, and a nomogram was developed through multivariate regression analysis. The nomogram showed excellent predictive properties with high sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy. It can be potentially useful for predicting breast cancer.

Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic performance of ultrasound elastography (USE) in assessing the malignancy risk of thyroid nodules through a systematic review and meta-analysis. The results showed that USE had good diagnostic accuracy for assessing the malignancy risk of thyroid nodules, with qualitative and semi-quantitative USE demonstrating higher accuracy than quantitative USE.
