Summary: Factors such as depression, anxiety, fear of cancer progression, fatigue, and time spent in bed were found to be significant predictors of low quality of life in cancer patients. Interestingly, cancer-related fatigue did not show a significant impact on patient's quality of life in this study, with depression being identified as the key risk factor. This underscores the importance of assessing and addressing depression in cancer treatment to improve patient outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate whether two non-pharmacological interventions for insomnia are effective for improving fatigue in cancer survivors. The results showed that both cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and acupuncture significantly reduced fatigue and improved sleep quality, with no significant differences between the two interventions.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of concurrent temozolomide-based chemoradiation therapy on neurocognitive function in low-grade glioma patients. Patients aged over 40 and with education over 16 years demonstrated superior baseline verbal memory. Overall, neurocognitive function remained stable following the treatment.

Summary: In addition to surgical management, corticosteroids have been widely used in the management of acute symptoms related to CNS tumors, with dexamethasone being the most commonly used. However, recent in vitro data suggests a potential suppression of oncogene-induced senescence by dexamethasone in a preclinical pediatric low-grade glioma model, raising concerns about its safety. A retrospective analysis of 172 patients with pediatric low-grade glioma showed that perioperative dexamethasone application had no significant impact on short- and long-term tumor growth velocity and progression-free survival.

Summary: This study systematically reviews models that aim to provide patient-specific predictions of pre-treatment rebleeding risk in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The reported discriminative performance of the models varied, and no model showed consistently low bias risk and clinical applicability in all domains. Only one model was formulated using a patient cohort that underwent contemporary, evidence-based aneurysm treatment practices, but this model lacked calibration or clinical utility.

Summary: This study retrospectively reviewed the clinical characteristics and outcomes after surgical revascularization for adult Moyamoya disease (MMD) in a Southeast Asian cohort. The incidence of postoperative transient ischemic attack (TIA)/stroke was 25.9%, with most cases occurring within 7 days postoperatively. Risk factors for 30-day postoperative TIA/stroke included a higher number of preoperative TIAs/strokes and indirect revascularization.

Summary: This study investigated the forward head posture (FHP), thoracic kyphosis, and their relationship in individuals with migraine compared to healthy controls. The results showed that patients with migraine had a greater FHP and thoracic kyphosis. This suggests that a 3-dimensional objective measurement could be a reliable tool for evaluating posture analysis in clinical practice.
